Tommy, ESS offers a bolt which replaces your rear mount for your engine cover due to the larger charge pipes. Go to their site and look at the S55 hardware, ie.. charge pipes and the bolt in question. Don’t modify when you don’t need too.

Tommy, in your previous videos, you've mentioned multiple times how you weren't interested in more power, claiming the car has enough. Obviously our experiences and goals change with time, but out of curiosity, what changed your mind from stock power to deciding on new crank hub + power mods?

@@TommyLGarage also possible video idea for future. They replaced front rotors 3 times in one of the dealership before I bought my F80 and they installed them backwards facing vanes each time. Rotors get warped on hard braking. They are now changing them for 4th time. I'm at under 30k miles. I'm guessing on our cars it's important to get the vanes position right or they get warped pretty easy.

Great video again...! However, any thought to re-use the BMW hose clamps? Would they even fit the new charge pipes (I would think so since the new charge pipes are the same diameter as the OEM ones)? I ask since the BMW hose clamps are a better design than the standard worm gear clamps that come with the kit. The OEM ones are Norma clamps that have a specific "spring" design that maintains even clamping force for applications that see extreme temperature changes (like what our turbo cars experience in the engine bay). I used them on the intake of my S/C'ed E46 (vice T-bolt clamps) for this reason and would like to reuse the OEM ones on the S55 when the time comes to upgrade my charge pipes. Check them out here: www.normagroup.com/corp/en/norma-torro-wf//?open&ccm=020020020

Actually good point. I ended up getting upgraded clamps. Will be putting them on soon.
@jmciver767
@jmciver767 4 жыл бұрын
@@TommyLGarage If the upgraded clamps you are referring to are T-Bolt clamps, I would recommend against using them. Based on what I have learned, T-bolt clamps offer good clamping force (better than standard worm gear type clamps) but do not retain their clamping force under extreme cyclical temperature changes (like what a car engine bay sees). It was a pleasant surprise to see that BMW uses the Norma clamps on the S55 in this application - I think BMW got this one right....
