Wow, Gina! This is such a simple design and looks easy to make, but it has a very classy look to it. Good job! I have been receiving the 3mm and 4mm fire polish beads also, so I am definitely making this bracelet in several color ways. One more thing, your method of using the wire guards for the closure is so much cleaner and neater-looking than the ones done with seed beads. I imagine it is also much more secure than thread alone. This will make me change the way I do closures in the future.

Hi Jeanne! I am so glad to hear that you like the design, and can see how classy it can look done in the fire polish beads. That's definitely what I was going for! It sounds like you will be all set to make these with the ones from your stash as well. Wire guardians are my go-to now. I am always reaching for them for the reasons you stated. Cleaner, neater, and stronger. Thanks so much for watching! 💜

Hi all! I want to mention that the beaded portion will be about 6" as shown, and the clasp/jump rings are meant to add about an inch. You can also simply add length by adding more jump rings, or a larger clasp. Also, here is the link to the corresponding blog post: www.orchidandopal.com/blog/chevron-channel-beaded-bracelet-tutorial-fire-polish-and-seed-beads-jewelry-making-pattern Happy beading!

So pretty and how smart to divide the thread in half! I can’t believe how easy it looks to do and yet it seems like it would be so complicated. I love the look of the autumn color bracelet - it’s funny because it’s my favorite season but I don’t look good in yellow and orange, and yet something about those colors and the pattern just stands out! I also wanted to ask you what the difference is between ladder stitch and brick stitch? I’m getting to the point where things are beginning to click and I can see the patterns of the thread path, but when I’ve watched tutorials with one of those two stitches, I can’t seem to differentiate between them. Thank you in advance! 💜
@ORCHIDandOPAL
@ORCHIDandOPAL 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Sharon! I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before, but for some reason it kind of came to me right before I started the video. I'm glad it worked out! The ladder stitch forms a pattern where the beads are stacked directly next to each other, while brick stitch is staggered - kind of like the way bricks look on a building. Well - that's the short explanation anyway! You will start to notice the subtle differences as you learn more. Thanks for watching! 💜

Hi Gina. If using 6/0’s you suggested about 34 rows. What if using 8/0’s...they are smaller so would it be closer to 40 rows for about the same length? Hi SueEllen! You got it. 40 rows is what I would suggest as an alternative; in my gemstone chip bracelet tutorial I used 40 rows of 8/0s, so that should work just as well for the same length bracelet. Enjoy shopping on beebeecraft!! :)

Hi there! You may be pulling too tight on the ladder stitch. Try giving it some slack, and letting the rows lay flat without pulling them too tight together. It will tighten up as you move on to the next steps. Hope that helps!

I just bought 700 yards of 6 pound test fishing line on Ebay for $5.59 US. Can't see where there'll be any difference between that and FireLine, except for the huge price difference. Oh! Love the bracelet as well, sorry, I saw the price of that FireLine and almost fainted, lol.
@ORCHIDandOPAL
@ORCHIDandOPAL 5 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Fishing line (monofilament) is actually a totally different product, but I can understand the confusion. Fire line is actually a fused thread, and fishing line is a different texture and material; you can't thread it onto a standard beading needle, and it rots over time. I wish fire line was cheaper, but I haven't found anything to top it yet. Hopefully one day. Thanks so much for watching!
