you can freeze your crayons for a few hours and the paper will come right off without any knives or anything. they just slip out

No, you can just freeze them, take the paper off, THEN melt them if you're melting them into a candle or something

maybe instead of the glue gun, you could use a heat gun to melt the crayon onto the candle.

Wouldn't it be easier to melt the crayon in the microwave, then spoon it over the candle ??

It's up to you. I think that would be much messier, wouldn't allow you as much control, & would end up taking longer - especially if you have to keep remelting colors. Someone suggested a heat gun, but I don't have one yet.

A hair dryer can melt the candle as well & it's usually messier. A heat gun may have been another good choice, but I don't have one currently.

I'm curious if you can get the same outcome with a hairdryer, point up so it wouldn't melt the candle.. but I love the video! I'm gonna do the rainbow one for my friend as a surprise, thank you!!

I think that would work well. Except it might take longer for the crayons to melt.

You can also shave off some of the crayon so it can fit in the hot glue gum

Good idea! I'd do it if I only wanted to use a few crayon colors, but it would take a long time to shave down as many colors as I used.

Also if you melted a crayon and hot glue stick together in s pan and made a mold of the glue stick you could make a colored glue stick just a thought lol

I was wondering if that would work, because the glue stick & yellow crayon mixed into a colored hot glue on the wax paper & it was actually really pigmented! Future DIY perhaps. :)

Marissa Gates I used a lighter and a crayon. It worked so much better then this, and you can reuse the lighters unlike the glue gun.

You can just hold the crayon with some tweezers and take a hairdryer and blast it with hot air and that is it you dobt have to sit there like an idiot for 5 hours

The hair dryer method isn't really quicker & the wax blows around. Plus, that might melt the candle wax as well. The blowdryer method is great for pumpkins though! :)

In the craft store near me, they have normal glue gun glue sticks and glitter glue sticks so which are obviously available in different colors so maybe i can try making this with glitter glue sticks

Something I love making that's quick and easy are pine-cone headchogs, they're so cute!! All u need to do I find a pine cone on the floor that's split in half, (where I live in Australia, there's pine cones every where) then u wash it paint on some eyes and a glossy taco. Whatever else you want and then ur done

I used to do this as a kid... I used a metal spoon held over a candle flame. It was really fun to melt metallic crayons together with basic colors. Just pop a little crayon chunk or two into the spoon, hold it over the candle flame til it liquefies, then pour it where you want it on the candle or bottle you were decorating. Ah, the memories...

a good idea is melting a candle with coconut oil in the microwave and when fully melted use one of those syringes to load the melted wax and pour on the candle, it would be faster and cleaner and the syringes come in different sizes at chemist and start at like 50c :)

Hey Sarah Lynn, here a quick clue. Since as crayons are mostly made of wax, we have people get them as a survival for candle's. Sweetheart just light the crayons and let it drip down the candles. be careful of your fingers. you might want to get gloves for heat resistance. love your crafts.
