Of course!! Also, so I’ve tried this and i found a quick hack that helps distress faster than plucking. Take your fabric scissors and, while they’re closed, rub the sharp edge really fast against the holes edge to create friction. It quickly wears away an you can pull white strings up! Not a perfect method but I have had trouble getting the white strings to not break while plucking blue strings. Not sure if they’re too stretchy the strings or what,

You can use a steak knife to fray the edges of the holes by slicing across them, either pulling the knife up, or down, depending on where in the hole you are making it frayed. (don't use a cutting motion). They can also be used to get the jean material off too, and it's faster.
