when I try to spin it, the bolt comes out of the drill. is it possible that my bolt is too thick?

We've tried this but had trouble with it spinning completely off or the bolt coming unscrewed

The carriage bolt he have is longer than an inch and a half

How big do the 1x4 need to be for an 11x16, 8x10 & 16x20 canvas?

It's not rocket science, !!!!, 🤔 but the most important thing in this whole job is to drill your center whole straight, not crooked or your canvas will wobble all kind of crazy while your canvas is spinning at the high RPM speed the drill spins, it'll be like a bent rim on a bike going reall fast
