Hi Klaus, what is the thickness of the glass? And what glass you used? Are you still digitizing books this way or you upgraded this project?

I use 6mm glass shelf! From time to time I digitize books in this way and it works still very well.

What did you do to avoid glare or reflection of the light on the glass during scanning? While scanning, I can see the reflection of the lamp on the glass.

This is only from the angle of the video camera, from the view of the DSLR lens in the direction of the glass is no reflection to see 🙂

I´ve seen this problem with the czur book scanner. The light is directly next to the camera lens, making a huge reflection visible. By taping up the lights and placing a proper light source at a right angle, it removes glare completely.

Very nice setup! Could you share your exposure and zoom settings, distance from book to lens. Thanks!

This is a 16-85mm lens, approx. 40cm distance to the glass plate, zoom settings that book pages are format-filling, aperture 5.6...

Hello! What new camera (not so expensive) do you recommend for this type of work?

Any modern DSLR camera is suitable, as long as it has a wired remote control! The NIKON DR300 is very cheap to get used and very well suited... :-)
