Our Pyrenees loved the cold weather when we had it in TX , we built him his own plush dog house with ac also , nothing was too good for our hard working pyr. He was the best , I miss him everyday , he worked until a week before we lost him at age 10 ….Even when we wanted him to take it easy at 8 y/o we didn’t have any goats or sheep and we just wanted him to enjoy being a dog , but he loved taking care of animals so much , when it rained , he would go get bunnies from their burrows and put ‘em in his doghouse , that’s their nature and they never give that up …. Even on days that I had fibromyalgia flares , he stayed by me all day , and honestly I felt better than any medication could do for me …. ❤fromTX

Get the dog door that opens with a corresponding collar. Might have to do something to allow the cats in too. You know how the cats love Mojo too!

You are one of the best US owners I've seen...and this just shows how great you are. This is perfect for him. I did wonder how he copes with any heat ,and I honestly don't know how he has managed to live this long if it gets really hot. He is the most beautiful dog and always so clean. We have tremendous heat and humidity here and even my short haired dogs struggle. I can't even imagine how he copes so this AC is going to be such a blessing for him ...and you.

We did something similar for our retired GP........ also added a large doggie door to our shop backdoor so he can come and go as he pleases. He's earned it!

Talking about mojo being afraid of storms just gave me such a sweet memory of our male great Pyrenees who was an indoor dog but when it would thunderstorm outside he would insist on going outside and he would bark at the sky like he wanted to fight it ,he was going to beat that thunderstorm up and he was such a docile dog it would make us all laugh so hard and I’m like you can’t fight God my love.🤣 wow do I miss that dog.

We have that exact unit in our shop. The 10% Veteran discount at Lowes was awesome. We installed ours 4 years ago. Love it.

I also think I would get the doggie door and get the collar that fits MoJo and the cats. That way the door and collars will activate so they could come in and out as they need to. We have at our home and is wonderful..❤❤ ❤❤🎉🎉

That’s the best way to do it is that he’s working dogs decide when they want to retire even for police dogs, service dogs, and any type of working dog. They will tell you unless of course if they have medical issues and you have to make that choice for them, and just do an early retirement, but most the time it typically come down to that for me it did

My husband put one of those in my office and the heat and cooling works great. Love it 🎉

That thick coat probably insulates in summer too. I wouldn't necessarily clip or shave him. A cooling gel pad (the kind you add water to and flatten it out like biscuit dough, but a bit thicker) will be great on the concrete floor. My lab loved hers. Cool-gel memory foam mattress pad on his bed will be easy on his joints. My brother's GP needed a twin size to stretch out. You didnt ask me anything - i just have a soft spot for senior dogs.

That is totally awesome, and you had a great helper. It should improve Mojo's life and allow him to be very comfortable into his old age. You are a very loving man to all your animals. It's great.

My Anatolian shepherd suffers so much from the heat in Texas and he has half the hair as Mojo. Mo and all HHF's animals are blessed to have you and Rachel as their guardians. The nice cool/heated shop will be such a respite for Mo. Thanks Mom and Dad ❤

I’m in St. Louis and deal with same weather issues. The Mini doesn’t keep up with humidity. Our GP Beau hibernates in the house. (He’s not a LGD)during the summer.

After we had a fire, the insurance guy said we needed to change out our A/C because of the soot, so our new toy is a Samsung minisplit and I love it! The installed unit cost our insurance peeps 16k! They were able to use the same tubing and such from our old system which we needed to replace and couldn't get parts for our 'one of a kind- no one ever heard of it' 3 condenser/compressor(??) unit. Ours is a 3 zone set-up. The one in my bedroom gets turned up to 64 degrees and down to 59 at night. Mojo needs a magnet collar that lets only him come in a giant doggie door!
