This looks awesome. I had learned this method a few years ago and used it to make a stone "floor" in a castle my daughter and i were making. The main difference was that I had cut my "stones" to 3 or 4 different sizes (all rectangle and squares). What i really appreciated from your video was the coloring techniques you used here as i really liked the way it turned out! I just happened across this video but i was so impressed that now I am going to go check out the rest of your channel!😊

Not sure what I like best the stones on the cardboard or the stones in your ring but, just to say I would be hard pressed to choose think I will plump for the egg carton stones, thanks for a great presentation, appreciated, love yer work.

Thank you so much! My ring is moissanite. It's the second hardest gemstone, and much cheaper than diamonds. But it looks very similar to diamonds. I love it!

Thank you for explaining the processes you used to achieve the wonderfully realistic stone effect. Watching your videos, I'm impressed by your attention to detail - which of course add to the illusion you are making. I have an idea to make model of the room that the Borrowers lived in; from the BOOK (which was read to me in 1952, when it first came out) not the films. In this, the scale would not be too important since all the contents should be authentically 'borrowed' - a cotton reel table for example. On second thoughts, would you make one? Then I can make one too, following your instructions! very best wishes from the UK. Jacky

I love that idea! I actually had planned on making a Borrower's diorama but Bentley House Minis made a similar idea so it's less of a priority. The videos are really fun and have great ideas. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eayYopRoqZycYIk.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m6uJd9Flp66ommQ.html

Egg carton stones almost always turn out great. If you're nervous about adding them directly to your dollhouse, you could make the stones on a cardstock or cereal box template first and then attach them to the dollhouse if you like how it looks.

Could sculpt on craft foam (pink stuff) use something like the texture of the egg carton to make the impression? Then your painting techniques?

That would probably work. It wouldn't look the same, but it's worth a shot

You could try it, but it may be hard to wipe away bc of the gluten

Your voice is only in the left earbud, but the music is in both. Great video but mixing the audio too pley in both ears would be nice.

Thank you so much for letting me know. I don't know how to do that. I use Premiere Pro so maybe I can figure it out.

Perfect! I don't have any of those because I don't drink coffee but I have some great inserts from boxes with nice big stone texture. They're a prized possession at this point. Idk what I'll use them for. It's gotta be great 😆
