HOW TO MAKE CABINET DOORS VIDEO: • DIY Cabinet Door Making
This DIY Entertainment Center project was a blast and only took a couple days to complete. The vast majority of that time was spent painting and/or waiting for paint to cure.

I am just getting into wood working and like your design. I plan to make something longer, but was wondering if there is a standard height the units tend to be made in.

No standard height that I know of, these types of entertainment centers are custom built to fit your area

Great video! I learned a LOT from watching it - one quick question (hopefully) you mentioned using baltic birch plywood but not how thick it is… I always **assume** 3/4" on projects, but that may not be correct, and I think the width of the face frame pieces would be affected (for instance don't want the face frame to overhang it TOO much, right?). Thanks again for the great video!
@DIYBuildouts
@DIYBuildouts 4 жыл бұрын
Stephen Washburn - thank you for the kind words! Yes you are correct, it’s 3/4” Baltic Birch. Everything was 3/4” thick except for the backing which was 1/4” thick. :-)

Great video! Considering building something similar. Two quick questions and I did not read all the comments so apologize if someone else asked. 1. Where did you buy the doors? 2. How do you attach the top/counter? Pocket holes on the underside? Great work!

Thanks for tuning in! Here are some answers for you: 1) I made the doors, video for those can be found on my channel 2) The top was attached with pocket hole screws on the sidewalls (underside) the pocket hole screws were placed on the upper and lower sidewalls to attach the top and bottom

Definitely, I was the same way. I ended up settling on the Wagner home decor Hvlp stationary sprayer and it has served my needs very well. Here’s a link to it: www.homedepot.com/p/Wagner-Home-Decor-HVLP-Stationary-Sprayer-0529033/206435623

3:34, are those plugs backwards? Kreg has tapered plugs granted they still need to be trimmed a touch.
@DIYBuildouts
@DIYBuildouts 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I made my own plugs from a dowel rod for this project, as it’s more cost effective for large applications.

For sure, I thought of that too. I built our store with pre-finished white birch and Without finishing the time and cost was a factor. Thanks for showing the plugs. Many don’t know about that idea even with dowels. FYI I love this of the many i see out there. Thanks for posting, I’m shouting for this layout. I forgot if you said you have plans or even a cut list would be fantastic! (Sell those plans on Etsy if you develop them step by step like lego books!)

Sorry I didn’t make a material list or plans for this project. It was a custom solution for my own house so I took the dimensions I needed and then purchased the corresponding number of plywood sheets.

Kreg sell pocket hold plugs in plywood .
@DIYBuildouts
@DIYBuildouts 4 жыл бұрын
Matthew King - Yes they do, but they are more expensive. A dowel rod 5 feet in length would cost $.60. Second, if you use dowel rods for other wood joints you likely have them already. Also with the Kreg’s you’re going to have to use wood putty to make them seamless, so there really isn’t any savings in the end.

U said this cost u $300? How many sheets you use? a sheet is typically $50, what else was pricey? Or are you just generously rounding up?
@DIYBuildouts
@DIYBuildouts 4 жыл бұрын
Steven P - I used Baltic birch plywood sheets x3, so that’s $170, then 2 gallons of premium paint at $40 each, then screws, door, and hinge hardware ($60), plus mdf sheet at $20, 1/4” plywood backing at $16, and trim moldings brought the cost to slightly over ~$300. This obviously doesn’t include the cost of the tools which I didn’t include since I use them on many household projects.
