This is an almost perfect short & to the point video of how to create a 3 part explosion box!... the only thing missing is what to score the boxes & box lids at. It'd be most helpful if you'd include the score measurements in the comment section or in a reply to my comment. Thanks so much!

I can help you with that :) I've made these kinds of boxes, and butterflies before. So the paper you see, is a square, for the box, so you take the measurement and divide it by 3, and mark each of the sides. and make a line across the square to each of the markings - just like in the video. The lid is somewhat the same, but I can image that they measured about 1" into the paper, again from each side, then made the lines across. I hope this helps, but if it sounds confusing, you can look at the video I made on my channel, where I explain it more thoroughly :)

What exactly are the materials used

Score each paper (not the ones for the lid) at the third mark - so for the 12 x 12 it would be at 4 and 8, for 10.5 x 10.5 it would be 3.5 and 7, for the 7.5 x 7.5 it would be 2.5 and 5. I hope that helps. The lids are scored 1 inch in from the edge.

@Jose ben It's the folding line. You know how a gift card folds in half, the line where it folds is called the 'score' line.

Need way more detailed description such as what materials EXACTLY and how to do each step EXACTLY. Where do we get the butterflies or how do we make them, for example? What type of paper is used? You gotta be detailed when doing a tutorial or how else are we supposed to figure it out?

There doesn't need to be any butterflies. You can put other things in it: mount pics/candy/designs/mini cards on the flaps, put anything you want in the pockets, pop-up cubes, there's exploding box cards you can buy or make your own - you can find tutorials on youtube.

This tutorial looks helpful until you tried doing it and you realised they didn’t provide measurements for when you need to start cutting and folding the lines to create the box. Now I’m left hanging 😢🤔
