Materials:
1) Spray Adhesive glue
2) Scissors
3) White poster board(purchase from Dollar Store)
4) Corner Puncher
5) Fabric (Fat Quarter Fabric)
6) Velcro
7) Fabric Glue
8) Elastic (optional)
9) Crop-A-Dile (optional)
10) Embellishments
11)Sewing Machine
Measurements:
1) Outer Cover) 2 pieces 11 1/2" X 6"
2)Inner Pocket) to hold the book in place) 2 pieces 4 7/8" X 6"
3) Smaller Inner Pocket) 1 piece 4'' X 4 1/2"
4) Flap Closure) 2 pieces 1" X 5"

What an incredible tutorial! I've been wanting to find a planner cover/case like this for a basic 8.5x11 spiral-bound planner, but everything I find is either too expensive for me right now or just not going to meet my needs/wants. This is EXACTLY what I've been wanting, and it seems like it would be so simple to adjust the measurements for various sizes, and even add additional pockets if desired. I'm so glad I found this - thank you for sharing it!

It's very pretty and you've obviously put a lot of love and care into it, but it seems more like a scrapbook than a planner. She will love it no matter what she uses it for I bet!

If you cannot find poster board, look for the matting board used for framing pictures. It comes in various weights and is just a bit more expensive than poster board. It's sold at art supply stores. Hope this is helpful.

Love this!!!! Been looking everywhere for a way to make my favorite "deluxe" covers without spending $35 a piece! Few questions.... do you think card stock would work as well as poster board (for a mini size) and did you have any trouble getting your machine to see through all the poster and board- I'm a little afraid of breaking my machine!

did you use a leather need for your sewing machine or a regular one? and regular thread or heavy duty thread? I'm afraid to break my machine...! I got poster board and made two but I still have to sew all the parts together hoping this will be my craft during the snowstorm tonight!

I use a universal or a denim needle to make my planners!!
