♡ MATERIALS ♡
⇒ Nail tool kit amzn.to/32rv3sQ
⇒ Nail file coarse grit 100* what I use amzn.to/36O0wsx
⇒ Nail glue amzn.to/36PFdHe
⇒ Nails- shown in video amzn.to/2WZZepI
*mine are color L5176 but they come in a bunch of other colors and styles!
⇒ Other nails I like amzn.to/2Cw7ODg
♡ NAIL PREP ♡
- Start with clean dry nails. Don’t do this after getting out of the shower or pool.
- Cut nails (optional) - they do look better from the back if your nails are short
- Push down cuticles (do not use any cuticle oil or lotion, nails must remain completely dry and clean).
- File nail bed- use a regular nail file for 3-7 days of wear, use a coarse grit 100 nail file for 2-3 weeks of wear. File in one direction, 5-6 passes of each nail and make sure all parts of nail are filed. **This is the step that will make them last!
- Wipe nails with rubbing alcohol to sanitize (new step suggested by you)
- Select nails that fit each finger
- SHAPE NAILS with file to customize them to fit each nail perfectly! **This is the most important step for making them look real & natural.
- Open a fresh bottle of nail glue for each manicure. This is because I have found that once opened and exposed to air the glue is not as sticky the second use (just my experience you don't have to follow!)
- Put one drop of nail glue on the base of the fake nail
- Put 2 drops of nail glue on your real nail (cover nail fully!)
- Position fake nail onto nail bed, make sure it’s positioned straight and pushed all the way down to meet the cuticle.
- Hold down for 30 FULL SECONDS! You will feel right away if it doesn’t feel secure. If it doesn’t you didn’t use enough glue or didn’t hold long enough and redo.
- Repeat for all nails
- Finishing touches: you can file, cut or shape the tips or even paint them if you’d like
- DO NOT SHOWER or come into contact with water for 2-3 hours after application. I typically do them at night. This will set them into place
I wear these for 2-3 weeks, usually a little over 2 weeks due to regrowth
♡ REMOVAL ♡
Method 1 - To preserve nails for future use
Soak nails in warm water for 30-40 minutes to loosen glue. Use a spare nail and slide it under the fake nail and pop the nail off. I have only ever reused a set of nails 2x because of glue buildup on the fake nail bed which makes it harder to bond to your nail. You could try to file the interior of the fake nail to remove the glue residue but I have not tried it.
Method 2 - faster & easier
First cut tips of nails with nail clippers, then soak nails in acetone for 15-20 minutes and use a spare nail and slide it under the fake nail and pop the nail off

Hey gal. I am a nail tech. I am ok with people using these, just make.sure after you file your nails you take a 91 or 99 % rubbing alcohol with a pint free pad and clean the nail plate prior to application of the nails. This prevents any fungus building up under the nail due to the dust left behind from filing.

Will it still last three weeks if you ONLY file the inside of the nail? I’m so antsy about filing the tops of my real nails but it sounds necessary to really anchor them down.😬
@professionalcommenter
@professionalcommenter 4 жыл бұрын
@@Me-mb1ex You don't have to use a 100 grit, it's important to have a rough surface so the glue can fully adhere to the nail bed. So if you did both the nail and the bed it would probably work better for you.

I have been doing my own nails exactly like this and with the Kiss brand for more than 10 years..The only thing I do differently is to put several coats of clear polish on prior to filing because I dont want to make my nail bed paper thin..but you need the filing for the nails to adhere...People have been complimenting me for years...for glue spillage I use a qtip and non acetone polish remover...I have to carry the glue at all times and sometimes a few spares in case of poppage...lol They are so versatile and you can use your own polish anytime...oh well my secrets out now..lol But I just had to agree with you..You're the best😍

A dental tool pick works even better (faster) than the floss technique (although that is a good one). I bought mine at CVS in the dental area. It came with one of those little mouth mirrors. It has just the right thinness and curve to get between the nail and your nail bed. I don't even use anything but a good soak in dishwashing liquid to soften up the glue, and this thing pops them right off without damage! BTW ... I learned the application initially from an earlier video Brittany did on this, and have used her technique ever since. I use the GEL regular superglue from Dollar Tree to apply them; it has way better control and less run-off! No difference in ingredient!

I've been doing my nails exactly like this at home for 20 years. I have thin nails so I use a medium grit file to rough them up first. They typically last 15-20 days. And then I let them "breathe" for 5-7 days before applying again. I get so many compliments all the time. Great video, as always.

You don’t actually need to let your nails breathe, I’m a nail tech and there is no such thing as letting your nails breathe. You can give them a break but your nails are better when they have things on them because it protects them from daily stuff you do.
@kat_9999
@kat_9999 4 жыл бұрын
Maybe "breathe" isnt the right word but when my nails come off, they are damaged because they are so thin. So I definitely need to give them a break before roughing them up and reapplying or else I'd eventually have no nails. When I dont have nails on, I apply nail treatment nightly to strengthen them.

I’ve been using glue on nails for years and I love them. I’ve used a lot of different brands, and have found Kiss brand nails to be the best. I have lately been using the brush on nail glue because it’s less messy. These nails look so good and are much cheaper than other options. If you apply them correctly, they can last for at least 2 weeks. I use gloves when I do dishes or when cleaning my house; this helps protect them from lengthy exposure to water. I can’t afford to have my nails professionally done, so these are a perfect option for me. Good instructional video, thank you!!

Love this! I just recently started using the Kiss press on nails just to try something new since I haven’t gone to a salon in years to get mine done & im loving them. Thanks for a lot of great tips. Just ordered the nail kit that you shared & might try the glue & nails next time. 😊❤️

Before I go back and shop for nails I want to say: thank you, thank you, thank you Brittany! I love the spirit lift nice nails give me, but there are drawbacks (mainly, the nails not looking natural.) I’ve had limited satisfaction from press on nails. I’m not brave enough to go full on salon nails. I’m headed out for Brittany tutorial nails! 👍🏻

Try Impress Nails! I have also tried EVERYTHING and these are by far the best! They're $6 at Walmart or Walgreens and a little more on Amazon. NO GLUE NEEDED! They last three weeks and they don't pop off ever!! Changed my life! You should do a review! ♡♡

A tip for you is to wear gloves while doing the dishes as it keeps your nails out of the water which soften the adhesiveness of the glue and your nails may stay on longer
