I totally love this clutch. I made mine a little bigger. Rather than gluing in carton, I used heavy pellon interfacing and cotton lining. I also sewed in some D rings and used braided material rather than the chain. Brilliant idea... thanks!

I had this project during my high school years. We made pillow cases and bags. Most of us used checkered fabric. No need to draw lines. It was elegant and your work too.:)

And here is my dumb self thinking of all the work I’d have to do to make a checkered one … sewing all the squares together …. Totally forgetting the fact that checkered fabric is a thing that exists … and has for quite some time 😅 maybe I should go to bed lol 😂

Adorei. Já fiz capa de almofada com essa técnica, mas a idéia da bolsa é ótima. Vou fazer com algumas adaptações, como por exemplo costurar ao invés de colar as correntes da alça.

The project had me ……till you used the hot glue gun……no,no,no……… If I make it definitely NOT USING HOT GLUE GUN! I will sew all parts of the bag. Love the final way it looks……..minus two chain pieces for loops!

EEEK! The glue gun! I would use a heavy interfacing and a nice ‘sewn’ lining. All that work.

I found a vintage smocking ruler from eBay from the 60’s on eBay and made smocked sofa pillows too! Very glamorous

Love but I agree with some of the below the glue takes away from all that work you did making it pop! You should handstitch a forward under back stitch.. sorry can't remember the same of it but it would make a nice seem along the zipper.. if you could open it and then sew through the carton, or otherwise use firm leather or something thicker.. for the inside.. fold it out and tuck it in to make it look like the bottom is flat an able to sit up on it's own.. I would LOVE to see you make a Pillow with this Pattern though! For SURE!

This is a really old pattern.. from my childhood. My mom made teapot cover in 1988 and it was made out of pink silk fabric. there was a handmade silk peacock on one side of it. It was so pretty..

Looks nice, but - zip should be the same color - how to wash it with carton and glue? A stitched piece of PVC would be more practical)) The idea itself is awesome though))

You could substitute the carton with another fabric to make it washable but you'll lose the nice stiff structure of it

Это нормальная ситуация, это видео от Татьяны Андреевой, которая создаёт из ткани и фурнитуры лютое г..но, вы ещё не видели её сумку из картона внутри, вот где реальный ужас. Она ушла с русскоязычного ютуба по тому что была зачморена, наши люди не слепые. Так что сидит тут и ляпает дальше дерь...ще, года идут, а навыки не улучшаются у нее. Но надо отметить, что ее видео полезны для поднятия самооценки))) даже дети так плохо не делают поделки, они хотя бы стараются)

When I was very young my grandmother taught this to me. We often used one or two inch gingham check so no need to draw a grid, we only had to count out the squares. It was called smocking. We made cushion covers and panels for dresses or aprons. If not using we’d have to draw out grid as you did here. Haven’t seen this done in years.

Outstanding! However...I will be using standard sewing for construction. Hot glue tends to fail in the long run.. why do all that work and not have permanence.
