DIY Flash Costume Part 1: Shirt & Emblem

This DIY Flash costume is based on the CW version, since I'm not really a fan of the Justice League version that I've seen in the movie trailers so far (looks too much like Iron Man and not enough like the Flash I feel). Had requests for a DIY Flash costume from Michiel, Griffin2, and Skymaster1267, and it was also my cousin's Halloween costume this year, so here's the tutorial for the first part, the shirt and the emblem.
The craft foam, sticky backed velcro, zipper, gold foil fabric, gold cording, red vinyl, and fake black leather can all be found at JoAnn Fabrics. The red shirt I picked up for $4 at the local Salvation Army. (Also, don't mind the marks on my arms here; I started filming this costume during the summer, and I had been burned by wild parsnip again at that point).

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Small pieces of 3mm craft foam
Gold foil fabric
Red long-sleeved shirt
1 yard of red vinyl (You may or less need more depending on your size)
10 feet of thin, gold cording
About 10 inches of fake black leather
Sewing machine or needle and thread
Sticky backed velcro
1 separating zipper long enough to span the height of your red shirt
Scissors
Hot glue gun

Cool costume I was wondering when you're done with this costume could you show us how to make a Green Arrow costume and or Speedy from the CW Arrow show

Almost everything I used here came from the Salvation Army and JoAnn fabrics. Good places to start gathering materials.

It's pretty easy once you get started. Almost everything is glued together, so not a lot of fancy sewing needed.

The logo should be velcro bc you can change the logo to red background

It's vinyl. So it looks like leather, but it's a lot cheaper.

Ok, I finally got to making a Jack Sparrow costume. Just got the tutorial posted for the compass, and the rest of the costume will be coming over the next several weeks (interspersed amidst a few other tutorials)
