DIY Flex Seal Whitewall Tires UPDATE

Күн бұрын04/03/2020 update on the whitewalls I painted on last July using Flex Seal. Unfortunately I’ve only put about 300 miles on the Buick with the painted whitewalls so it’s not the best update I’d hope for. They have held together at least while sitting through winter. Today I cleaned one of them up to see how bright they’d get after being so dingy. I am pretty please, but plan to scrub your on them more.

I use Simple Green on my whitewall tires and a cloth, in order not to leave any scratches, or like mentioned in the other comment Mr. Clean eraser pad. For FlexSeal that might be the way to do it.

How new are the tires that you painted? I had problems with carbon leaching into the flex seal with newer tires. Older one are supposed to be better.

Could try some 303 protectant on it to keep the uv rays from changing the color.

I was thinking about using flex seal to make whitewalls. I found your videos during my search. Very impressed. I don’t mind the slight yellowing because years ago my whitewalls were always an off white. I bought a spray can of Flex Seal, but I found it extremely liquidy and wonder how it compares to the brush application? I’ll have to take my wheels off to keep gravity from making runs.

Looks good, I just did my tire letters so please let me know what you use to clean it, it's so hard to keep white clean
