The wooden chew log cracked me up 😂 my gerbil is the same anything I put in the cage just disappears within hours... I’ve resorted to begging for toilet paper tubes from family now 😂

I reccomend more bedding ( in the deep area) and more toys but decent cage

Really good sized cage but I would recommend putting maybe some care fresh of some softer bedding in there for them 👍

That's a really nice sized tank you've got there! I'm wondering if you've thought about adding a topper to it? I know it's impossible to buy one that will fit exactly but you could make a wooden platform for a topper to sit on like I did with mine, I've got a guide if you want some ideas on how to do it 😊 a topper is really good because it allows you to keep their sand bath, water bottle and wheel separate from their bedding and means you can give the whole tank as digging space which gerbils absolutely love! ☺️ Also the UFAW (global animal welfare research body) recommend a 30cm diameter for wheels for gerbils, unfortunately pets at home recommend wheels that are far too small 😑

You should know that gerbils natural job is digging and u need much more bedding. U only covered the ground. But they need at least 20 or 30 cm of bedding. Please do them a favour

Using an aquarium for a rodent cage is not only a Bad idea but a Cruel one. The mesh over the top does not guarantee adequate cage ventilation. Bear in mind that carbon-di-oxide is heavier than other atmospheric gases, making it harder to flush out of a glass walled enclosure. Ive seen supposedly "funny" videos of hamsters in such cruelty cages behaving strangely; running in circles. The person that posted that one and a couple of ignorants that commented below found it funny. It was anything but, as, the lack of fresh air was making those animals go nuts. Guys, please dont be ignorant and as a result cruel. Dont use aquariums for this purpose.

Lots of good intentions but a bad outcome. You have actually embarrassed yourself by just dumping the paper tubes on top of the hay. They aren't going in to, or coming out of anything, so, there's no incentive for a gerbil or anything else for that matter to go in to, or through these. Then there's what you actually say. Every 2nd sentence starts with "basically". Do you have an advanced as well as a plain version of what you planned to say? No. State your say... and no "basicallies" this time. Then there are the fillers: "aaa um um aaaaaa". Is it that hard to know what to say? Its not science and an IQ of a cockroach is enough to elaborate on the topic. Um um aaa... deplorable. You can do a lot better than that on the proviso you think first and pull yourself together second.

Looking back at comments on this channel and finding people say that I'm being cruel completely baffles my mind! This video is mine and I no longer post because of comments like urs. Plenty of research has been done over the years with every animal I have owned the tank is absolutely fine more than what a lot of gerbils are kept it. In no way shape or form could this be classed as cruel. There's many others that u should be more conserned about other than mine..... Oh and the cardboard tubes where placed there as I knew my gerbils and I knew they used the tubes to shred not go through as a tunnel. They made tunnels in the bedding themselves therefore didn't need a pre made tunnel. Thanks for ur big headed comment though 👍
