Are you ready to learn how to make some DIY hats with the Cricut Hat Press. I am doing a Cricut Hat Press review today so you know whether or not this new heat press is for you. This video is sponsored by Cricut, however, all projects and opinions are my own. I am making hats with iron-on, Infusible Ink, and sublimation prints. The new Cricut Hat Press can do all three so let's put it to the test on caps, visors, sunhats, bucket hats, and so much more. Cricut has applicable ALLERGY WARNING information posted on our product details page, outer packaging, internal shrink-wrapping of the Hat Pressing Form, and permanently affixed on the care instructions label on the Hat Pressing Form itself. While we do not currently believe that hats are unsafe to wear after heat pressing using the Hat Pressing Form, we highly recommend you consult with your allergy specialist if you have any concerns about the severity of any allergies. In case of any irritation, immediately wash skin with soap and water; if irritation persists, seek immediate medical attention.

Thank you for the tips. Did you have any issues with the paper not wanting to lay flat enough for sublimation? I didn't have much luck with sub and amazon trucker foam hats. I think its the foam. I'm going to try a cricut hat.

Holding it down with the strong heat tape is critical to getting it to stay on the hat.

Can I please ask if you’ve tried to use the Hat Press like a regular heat press, just holding it on the design without moving it back and forth. I usually use a Teflon sheet to protect the fabric. Just wondering if it would work the same…thanks!

I haven't really. I did press for like 4 - 5 seconds with a teflon sheet after removing the carrier sheet on some of these for some extra stick and I didn't move it for that.

Sorry if i missed the answer to this question. I am trying to put a logo on a blue cotton/elastane cap and a black polyester cap. I have been trying with Siser easisubli and getting varied results using the mini. Do you think this hat press would work better? And yes I agree with the others your videos are very thorough and informative. Many thanks for producing them.

Can you change the temperature of the Cricut Hat Press without using the Heating ap?. I do not have a smart phone, Iphone , or tablet and nothing on the Cricut websitie tells you which devices it will work with. Like yesterday our internet was down most of the day. I was only able to use my Cricut Maker -Cricut joy because we can use it off line now if you saved you files. I am getting conflicting information information regarding the Cricut Hat Press. I love the time you take to share your knowledge with us.

I love all your videos. I just bought the cricut hat press and the cricut trucker hats and I want to use sublimation on them (not cricut infusible ink). My problem is that I don't know what time/temperature you're supposed to use because I'm not using one of the transfer materials in their list. I will need to set custom time and temp, but I have no clue what that should be. Can you answer this?

I would start with whatever you use for say a polyester shirt. It may take some trial and error but that should be close. You can also start with what they suggest for Infusible Ink.

I really love how you try so many variations for us. I did order it today and was able to get good deals on the cap blanks as well as 20% off and free shipping with code HAPPY and cricut access discount. Great suggestion to turn the form on its side for children's hats. I wonder what might work if you have a big head hat if it will be too large for the form. Do you think you could use the hat press for anything besides hats?

Hello! In your previous video you mentioned that the hat form came with an allergy alert how does that apply after using the hat form will the nut allergy transfer to the hat fabric.

I do like the hat press. I think that one is a good idea. Plus I seen a stuffed animal done with it on J. Maker. That's pretty neat. I like the press too. The app one doesn't impress me at all. I'm just starting to get interested in the sublimation. I thought you have to have fabric with sublimation in/on it? Or buy a product with it being treated?

I plan on another video testing other products with the hat press. This one was just hats. You have to have polyester fabric for sublimation which I had in these cases.

I do prefer this because I won't be making a ton of hats and I have zero space for a big hat press. That being said, I may get one in the future to compare them.

Correct Infusible Ink blanks from Cricut work better with Infusible Ink.

Well I got my hat press but the cricut heat app does not connect to the hat press on android 12. I was able to activate the hat press with my son's android 11 phone. Can I use it manually without the app until the developer fixes the app?

You can definitely just use it without. I would report the issue to them though so they can fix the glitch.

Question??? I like the new large heat press but the cost is really high(1,000 plus tax) Right now the StarCraft is back in stock and I don’t know which way to go. My space is really limited and the Cricut would store better. But can it work on glass? I’m also concerned about the pressure being automatic. Lastly being new to Cricut and using the print a cut feature which is way to limited on size. I’m confused on which design space or program to use for larger projects. I see people using Canva for creating then send to silhouette for sizing and then printing. (so I would have to learn both programs, OVERLOAD….) Can you do a tutorial on ONE program that can work for larger images and that you can print for sublimation (have a mirror feature) or other applications? I would love to know your perspective on both of my questions as soon as you can. Thank you in advance.

I will be doing more testing on the AutoPress for those features and will hopefully post videos at a later date. I am also working on something for sublimation with oversize prints. I am assuming you are talking about prints larger than you printer can print.

They are all in Cricut Design Space. I linked to a project in the description below the video that has all of the designs. You can pull it up and just delete off those you don't want.

I think these whole new line is crazy over priced but specially this hat press… requires special tape; apps to register and to move back and forth. I’ll stick to my small tiny hat press. Cricut is just trying to make us all spend way too much money on products that look adorable but are not practical to use bc I can get a hat press extension which will save me a lot of money by not buying special tape and apps and move things side to side. Also a 1000 press lol are they really catering to small business owners or crafters? Seems like they aren’t. I do appreciate your videos so thank you

I would respectfully disagree… if I am going to only going to make a few hats… having to buy special tape for a gadget that seems to have not been thought of properly would not feel more practical. If this hat press did not require special cricut tape and move side to side to hope it works… I would deff buy this item; but aside from looking adorable; seems like they went with a primitive way of using. They should of designed it more like a clamp which you can bring down, don’t have to rock and don’t need some evils tape.

The tape is just a stronger grip to hold things down on a curved surface. I really think it could be useful on ANY hat press. And you can try it with the tape you already have? Not sure why you think the tape is a must buy.

I know they are sponsoring…. If they were sending me free stuff I woudnnt be saying this. I’m not saying it’s what you do but it’s hard to know whose opinion it is when a company sends you free stuff. Who would then tel a company that their new product sucks? Consumers like me. Not bc they are expensive or whatever but bc there are major flaws on their design
