A great project. I love that you use common household tools, and do not have an awesome fully kitted out workshop like most DIY channels have. Even I could make this stand. Brilliant.

That's quite nice! For an added effect you could fill the center spiral with epoxy resin to make it solid but light can still pass though.

That's a great idea. Sadly epoxy resin is really hard to come by in Norway

I feel like resin in the center would be a great finish as it allows the base to be flat to drop off additional things onto the base.

As I already wrote before an excellent channel, with great content. One of my favorite overseas. Because of the language barrier, I do not understand much, but the authors make the most visible. Good luck to you, development, new ideas and subscribers. With love from Russia!

Hi! I really like this headphone stand! Well done! I know you said that you wanted to keep the electronics simple but if you have the time to "play" a little bit more with the electronics you can make this stand charge your headphones. Plug it to the wall and let it have two outputs, one for the LEDs and one for your headphones. I don't know if everything can fit underneath the stand, though... But I think it would be really cool and it will make your desk even more organised. :) Keep up with the good work!

I have the same problem in Belgium. It’s very difficult to find darker wood here so I end up mostly with using pine and staining it. For most projects this is fine, the only time I found it troublesome was when building a chessboard.
@roe8553
@roe8553 4 жыл бұрын
my shop teacher always had us make precuts that would be a straight line, starting from the edge of the wood to a cm away from the design, we would do this all around the design, to make it easier to cut, and not weaken the bandsaw.

Nice video gave me a few ideas but just so you know only throw away a tool if it’s completely destroyed. Even though your hole saw bit wobbles, it still cuts. Hold on to tools like that you never know what you’ll use it for in the future. You might have to do something that’s not important how it looks but you know it will destroy a tool.

I agree with the issue of getting different materials of wood here in Norway. it's really hard. specially since in example walnut is imported and needs to be bought (shiped and tolled and everything) trough bigger companies.

I just found your channel. You make some very cool projects. I don't know how available it is in Norway, but I've seen a torch used on the edge of acrylic to make it crystal clear. He just ran the flame over the edges. If you can locate one it would be much easier than trying to polish them. Troy

ah ok. well you did a great job anyway. pine slits really easily, but in the end theres no harm done at all. i really like that you spend so much time on details, like rounding off the vertical arm with the plane and file, and wood burning rather than using marker. its another lovely project, and i'm sure you learned lots trying out some new tools, just like i did from watching. see you in the next one! :-)
