Girl, you are not learning how to be a herbalist, you were born to do it! Don't forget the days we watched you at your little house, with the sunroom full of tinctures. You just didn't have the physical space to fulfill those desires (and you had two babies at home). You now have all the tools; I can't wait to see you thrive! Looking forward to next years' herbal garden.

God bless you for this video. I am also studying botany and holistic medicine to help with my pain and health condition. Last night I saw a video on the willow tree to help with pain (just like your channel name), then I was inspired to use cayane pepper in my curry after watching the first video of the morning, then that lead me in my side bar to a cayane pepper balm video, next leading me here, this was my plan last before I even searched comfrey, but wait this is not my plan it's his The Godincidences are real Jesus is alive! (Psalm 23:1-2 Kjv) (Psalm 147:3 Kjv)

I had a seriously painful knee injury that I had for 4+ months. Decided to put a comfrey poultice on it for 24 hours. After that it healed within a couple weeks. One day I realized the pain was gone.

I Have gone through some of their courses and the Chestnut School of Herbal medicine too. I have found with trying to do a heat extracted oil method that crock pots were way too hot for the herbs. Even my lowest setting on my stove top was too hot also. You really should set a thermometer in it to watch and make sure it doesn't get over 110 degrees. The only way I found that had a precise consistent temp was using a programmable digital yogurt maker!

How do you think one of those larger dehydrators would work if you took all the trays out? Those can be set to pretty precise temps.
@amberthistle2803
@amberthistle2803 10 ай бұрын
@@andrewhammill6148 try it and find out! I've used my dehydrator to proof bread dough before but never to do herbal infused oil. I would gently bring the oil and herbs up to temp on the stove and then pour it into a canning jar or a glass mixing bowl. Make sure to put a loose fitting lid so nothing can blow in there.

Any ideas where to buy comfrey that yr not just getting shredded whose knows what. I made some, but ordered off Amazon. Not sure if it really was cuz who really knows. I gave RA, I wouldnt say it helped. So an actual person growing it to buy would be awesome to see if there is a difference. Cooking oil is ok? I alway thought any skincare regimen you need to use a carrier oil, one that will soak in the best. Grapeseed oil is rated #1 to soak in fast.

Hi Jill, love your videos ❤, but a little concerned about comfrey.. was looking to plant it in the garden this year bc I’ve heard so many great things, however, I’ve seen it also can be quite controversial. It contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which are cancer-causing agents. Wondering if you’ve learned much about this in your course? I’ve also read it’s toxic to ingest and toxins could seep in through the skin? Any ideas if this could be soaked up into plants when used as a fertiliser? Any thoughts on this would be super helpful! Thanks so much!

@TheGumbootGarden

@@tericamcginnis5848 From what I’ve read online and can understand, it seems as though the US has recognised it is toxic enough where it shouldn’t be eaten and has stopped allowing it in ingestible products, but are still using it in salves. I did find a source that says it can still make its way into your body through the skin, but the govt has decided its benefits outweigh its negatives. 🤷🏻‍♀️ ..Something happened to pop up when I was googling comfrey, so I tried to search a bit deeper. Was hoping someone else may know better than I.
