What is sublimation?
A dye-sublimation printer is a computer printer which uses heat to transfer dye onto materials such as a plastic, card, paper, or fabric. The sublimation name was first applied because the dye was considered to make the transition between the solid and gas states without going through a liquid stage. -Wikipedia

Also, my printer just broke, and I’m looking for a new one for sublimation but I’m seeing a lot of people talking about how epson, and HP are making it hard to use sublimation ink cartridges on the newer printers. Thank you so much for this video. Your videos are always so helpful. Any suggestions when the colors are not coming out the way they are suppose to? My printer keeps printing as if the original epson ink is still in it.

Do you mean the colors are dull? If so that’s normal. The heat activated the ink with sublimation. So you won’t see the true colors until you press.

THIS IS WONDERFUL!!! Thank you. Know I don’t have to get another printer. I can use one for both, because I also print and cut for other projects on my Cricut. Even if time consuming it is worth saving the $$$ on another printer.

No! You do NOT want to mix the inks. By swapping cartridges, the ink going to the print head will be contaminated. If you set one up for sublimation, that's all it should be used for.

Thanks for the video. We ordered our 7710 before we saw your vid. How is the inkxpro ink holding up as we have been looking at all kinds of ink but can not find empty refillable cartridges other than with the inkxpro kit.

It works great. I’m actually just now running out and I’ve done a ton of projects. So I’ll say it can last awhile too. I’ve also heard great things about Cosmo’s ink. You may always want to try them.

Great video. What’s the resolution like on the printer? Is it worth investing loads more in an Ecotank or not you feel the epson one you are using is great output quality. Just wondering if paying loads more is really worth it, I’m looking for an a3 printer.

Thank you. I’m not sure what an a3 printer is, but if you do get an ecotank make sure it’s one that can print 13x19 or larger. The output quality would be the same but the conversion is simpler and you won’t run into the problem of the printer not recognizing your cartridges or saying your ink is low when it’s not. Etc etc.

No. You need separate printers. One for sublimation and one for regular stuff.

I just went thru your video and this helped me out tremendously with setting up my wf7710 to.convert to a sublimation printer using Cosmos ink , until I started printing and yellow printed instead of magenta 😫. I have no idea what to do , have you ever encountered this problem ? I went thru cleaning it twice still no magenta, I checked to make sure ink was in the right spot nothing 😫. Also what is your IG I tried finding you but I could find "the penny pinching wife". Please help if you have any resolution to this issue.

No. If using regular ink then there’s no need because that’s what the printers made for.

I finally worked up the nerve to convert my 7710 printer to sublimation. I used it as a regular printer for awhile. Do you just keep doing the print nozzle check until the lines break up and then become clear agsin

Do purge files instead of nozzle checks. They use a lot of ink and too many can hurt your printer.
