I had a small work shop in the Australian outback. Guy comes with busted bush spacer in a VW gear box wants me to turn one down on my lathe.. How much..."I said a case of canned beer up front" He came back with the beer...we both drank box empty...I melted the cans down in a sand mold to a rough bush spacer ...turned it down to the right size and he was on his way . That was something to do that afternoon.

Or just ask the manufacturer for a new part lol

Let's stop for a moment and think, there aren't many metals that melt at that low temp, tin or lead come to mind. One is not a great idea and the other is a very very bad idea.

I could see this for a “very temporary” repair tool you get a job done. Then do it right later. It’s all about finishing a project for a customer on time, if that means a little rigging, so be it.

Try welding a flange nut on a piece of all thread. The flange on the bottom, this will also help square the nut

I don’t know if using puter as the metal base is a great idea. The low melting point and malleability of it makes this seem like a bad idea.

I would have threaded the bolt through the opposite side to atleast not worry about pulling the nut out.

Idk what metal you're using but if you can melt it like that ... Its definitely a shitty metal to screw a metal bolt into, tighten it too much or put too much force on it and youll be having the threads removed
