How to make a thin strips cutting jig? I made a jig with safety and precision.
Each part was made to be replaceable, and in particular, a handle with a good grip was made with walnut wood and gave a point. For the jig I make, convenience is basic and coolness is essential. haha!!
Made using 18mm birch plywood, walnut wood, 5mm transparent acrylic, and 10mm white acrylic

This is an awesome jig!!! This is something every shop should have. I can now make my own veneer for the inlay I do on the pieces I make. Thank you for sharing another great idea with us. I am going to share this with a couple of KZfaqrs I follow that I think would love having this in their shop.

I'd just watched another 'thin rip' video, suggesting to the designer that it'd be better if it were to hook over the fence (his relied on a vertical block being pushed down above the blade) ... then I find you've gone and done exactly as I was suggesting ... nice to know I'm not completely thick ... excellent jig 👍

thank you, my friend, I am Armenian, but I live in Russia, I have a cnc machine and I like to make all sorts of devices. I'm not a carpenter or a carpenter, I just like to make souvenirs sometimes on a CNC machine made of wood. That's why I make all sorts of devices for myself. I have collected about 30 species and some of them have already been made. For myself, I made a sawing table and tools for it. I make all the programs for the cnc machine myself and cut everything on the machine-from which I get satisfaction. My friend has also modeled this device, and as soon as I get home, I will make it. I took a lot of interesting things from you, I think I can make such a machine))) She's just very professional and I don'T NEED that))) MANY THANKS TO YOU AND THOSE PEOPLE WHO SHARE THEIR CREATIVITY. Here I would like to show the dimensions too, otherwise I sit and invent all the dimensions myself and that's all approximately)) Good luck to you in your business👌👋🖐👋👌

You used some sort of wide tape that was in a roll. It appears to be contact peelable on one side but not so sticky on the bottom side. Can you elaborate as to what it is called? I understand everything else in your video but I've not seen that before. Once again, a wonderful demonstration.

What a great accessory! I will definitely try to make one. I recently took strips out of a sapelly plank (16mm) and as I cut them I could see how they twisted. Could you tell me what it is due to? and more importantly, how can I straighten them? Thank you very much.
@carpentak
@carpentak 2 жыл бұрын
Wood that is less dry will become deformed. Since this cannot be prevented, store them in large pieces if possible, and cut only as much as necessary. Twisted strips must be corrected with a jointer planer and an automatic planer. It's very difficult with a hand planer. If the condition is severe, it is better to give up.

@@carpentak White acrylic do you mean PTFE? In my country acrylic can be any plastic. How many teeth does the disc have? I have a 60 tooth and maybe I will buy an 80 tooth. Thank you very much again, you are very kind.
@carpentak

I don't know if PTFE is right. Here in Korea, they just call it acrylic. My disk has 80 teeth. 60 discs would be good for cutting plastic.

@carpentak
@carpentak Жыл бұрын
