this video I'm examining and repairing my faulty USB phone charger (5V 1A switching power supply). It failed after 2 years of seldom use. I've drawn a partial schematic in the video. Full reverse engineered schematic of this charger WARNING: Mains voltage is dangerous! Risk of electric shock and death. Risk of fire. Leave repairs to professionals. Hardest part is putting thr battery and the port inside. But if the battery runs out, what will we do? Do we plug the adaptor and it wpuld charge??

3 cells - 4.5v is not enough to cgharge a smartphone once you take into account voltage lag @ high current - also, whate safety measures have you taken, in case its plugged back into the mains? bottom likne, this is a crackpot idea!

6 v (4cells) won't work either as it may overload some 5volt circuits. Put a 1n4007 diode in series with the power cable, this will drop the 6 volts down to 5.4 which is just about acceptable.

the only reason its charging is because of a overcharge capacitor, otherwise do not try this it sure wont work
