Good idea. Tie the mesh tubing in a bow that should help with the look. Also, try to put the mug in the corner on the bag and pull the shrink wrap as tight as you can and tape to bottom that will help with the extra.

When you shrink wrap. You have to start from the bottom and work your way around and up to be smooth
