Почему по косой ? Не проще полотно прямо плести!?

Прямо - проще. Но полотно, сплетенное по косой, более податливое и не такое жесткое, особенно если вы плетете с петелькой. Для этой модели, больше подходит. К тому же, вы когда полотно плетете прямо , то бусинки в сумке будут располагаться крестиком. А при плетении по диагонали, когда сумка будет собрана, бусинки располагаются одна под другой. Присмотритесь.
