In the UK i believe it is common practice to put scrim over the screw holes, to stop popping! It is common to see ‘popping’ in modern houses as they are thrown-up as quickly as possible, with scant regard to quality! Thanks for sharing and ignore the haters. The 95% appreciate your efforts and as for the 5%, well....

looks good, a repair I've had to do a thousand times. I've used that Selleys spakling before, I still prefer to use the old fashion bedding compound, and then a multi purpose ready mix plaster as a finishing coat. It does take longer because of the drying time. If you are under time constraints, and quite often we are when we deal with tenants and landlords, who seem to think that this job should only take 5 minutes, then Selleys is ideal. Cheers

I got a neat optical illusion effect at 5:55, I suspect due to the light glinting off the left-middle screw head. Made it look like the camera angle had shifted and the screw heads were all popping out a bit from the wall instead of being countersunk.

I watched one of the gentleman’s other videos on the same subject and made a comment on how difficult his process is and needless so. So he sent me an email to watch this one. Presumably being a better method. Having watched this video it seems still extremely difficult as compared to professional methods. Poor fell works so har to force mud into the cracks. Totally not necessary. Simple lay a mud base down then apply the tape to it. I can repair an entire hole in the time it takes him to measure the board and cut it.

All that drilling of the plaster. I just drill a hole through the middle of a small piece of timber, thread a piece of twine through the middle of it. Then wipe some liquid nails or other fast-set strong adhesive on the back of the plasterboard hole, pop the timber through (holding onto the twine), and pull it up against the back of the hole and in contact with the adhesive. Hold it there until the timber sets in place. Cut the piece of twine off. Then pop some adhesive on the back of your drop-in plasterboard piece, stick it to the timber, use some plaster compound to set it in and smooth it off. No drilling required (well, still need to put a hole in the timber). :)

Some of that plaster is thick, it'll shrink as it cures over the next month leaving an indent. A heat gun may prevent that shrinking.

don't need screws, or wood, just cut a piece of drywall twice the size of the hole, flip the drywall "Score" a square the size of the hole out of the drywall, break the drywall and peel while leaving the paper on the Drywall. this gives you the paper you need, now you just put drywall mud on the wall and the back of the square on the paper and around the edges. bam super simple.
