Great ideas, Drew. My fave is the macramé shelving; the way you did that weave was so extra, which is what I love most about your "Drew-It-Yourself projects." Re the surgery, the anesthesia is no biggie. You're gonna be perfectly fine and you'll feel soo much better with those things gone! Ibuprofen, warm salt water rinses (to speed the healing) and a good blender will be your best friend for the first few days. Take care and take your time...we'll be here!

I made a laundry sorting thing out of a kallax 2x2 shelf. 4 baskets. Added some legs. And stained a wooden plank and added it on top. Looks great and is functional and doesn't take up a lot of space. Sorting clothes when you chuck them in the laundry is genius. And you got space on top. Defo my favourite piece of furniture !

@mafaldagif
@mafaldagif 5 жыл бұрын
@@nikkiedwards7475 i believe it turned more sturdy because he gave more mass to the feet of the shelf. It's just like you get a bunch of wooden planks to make a fence, if you connect them, they might be strong, but if there's lot's of empty space between them, they'll be flimsy and, possibly, just for show.

👋🏻 Hey Drew! You’ll do fine tomorrow. Just take your meds as soon as you get home! Stay in front of the pain!! And don’t spit or suck so you don’t dry socket. Do that and you will heal up quick. Now the DIY’s, that shelf is awesome for ten bucks! And the macrame cord weave you did looks amazing! Okay, get rest, don’t eat or drink after midnight! Good luck tomorrow! ❤️💜💚

I did something really similar to the 2nd box DIY this weekend! I added a braided twine handle to the side of the box that faces outward and I think it made it look even more “store-bought.” Just in case anyone reading this wants to know how to do it, it’s super easy! I cut two small square holes in the box with a hobby/ x-acto knife. The holes should be only large enough that your un-knotted braid /just/ fits, so that you won’t see the holes. So, make your braid, but leave it unknotted on both sides, with enough room to tie a knot. Then, thread each side of the braid through its hole and tie the ends /inside/ the box. The knot will be much larger than the hole and the handle will stay in place!

wisdom teeth tips (from someone who wasn't put under and had all 4 taken out, on two separate trips): • for the first 1-2 days, ice it for 20 min increments (20 min on, 20 min off). this helped me so much with swelling! if you can, get a cold pack that can wrap around your back, but wrap it around your head so you can have your hands free! this is honestly my BIGGEST tip • sleeping elevated helps with swelling too! • ease into solid foods. microwave mashed potatoes were the BEST. but don't eat them hot, so you don't dissolve the blood clots. wait till you can see that you're fully/mostly healed to eat hot foods. • the best ways to avoid getting a dry socket are: don't drink from a straw till you see that you're fully healed (obviously). hold back from brushing your molars for the first couple days so you don't risk hitting a clot. if you have a rinse your dentist gave you, don't swish by pushing air in your mouth (like normal) - shake your head instead, especially for the first day or two. otherwise, don't be scared of getting a dry socket. super easy to prevent! • if you're still uncomfortably sore towards the end of the week (and your mouth is healed), switch to a heating pad! that helped me a ton. Hope this helps and I'm sure you'll have a great recovery! just chill out for the week, catch up on some shows, and you'll be back to normal by the end of next week!

I got my wisdom teeth out a few months ago for the same reason you are, It was no worries! never felt a thing! Just make sure you have a friend or two to take you back home and get drinks and a bunch of soft foods that you like together and try to be super chill through your first week or 2 of healing. it gets tiring because you're basically waiting for gums to heal up, (and sometimes the need for a burger is real) but take your pain killers as prescribed, be the poolside socialite everyone deserves to be and you'll be golden! 🧡💛🧡

Hi! I just got my wisdom teeth taken out about a month ago. I chose not to go under since I'm baby, so I won't comment on the procedure itself since it'll be different than yours. Other than that, the aftercare is more tedious than anything, the pain is not that bad! In fact, I didn't even take any of the hard pain meds they gave me, I just took 3 motrin twice a day and it was totally manageable. I would recommend you give over the counter pain meds a try on the first night, you'll avoid some potential stomach upset from the heavy pain killers. If you for some reason find it's not enough, then you can switch to the hard stuff, but if you find OTC to be enough, then all the better. I would also recommend preparing a big ol' pot of mashed potatoes tonight-- I made a ton with some gravy, and it was my staple meal for the week following surgery. Mashed taters will fill up your stomach, give you a good base before taking any meds, and they're yummy! Blended soups are also your best friend-- I pretty much lived on mashed potatoes, campbells tomato bisque soup, and apple sauce for the first week. Good luck! I was a nervous ass wreck before my surgery, but I was pleasantly surprised with how quick and easy the procedure was. :-) And you only have to go through this once!

I had never been put under anesthesia either before I had my wisdom teeth taken out and I was super nervous but it’s nothing to be worried about! Good luck with your surgery 😊

Hey Drew, I had four impacted wisdom teeth taken out under general anaesthesia and it was fine, you wake up just like you’ve been asleep normally and it’s all over. Make sure you have someone to pick you up after you’re released and keep the tooth ‘holes’ (not sure what else to call them lol) really clean while they’re healing so they don’t get infected - flush them with water after you eat, etc. In my experience pain after the surgery was pretty minimal, but because your teeth are impacted and you’re having 4 out at once, you might be pretty swollen for 4 or 5 days afterwards. my advice is don’t use nice pillowcases for a few days after your surgery - I sometimes woke up with blood on my pillow after sleeping! You’ll be really happy when they’re gone though because no more jaw pain! Hope it all goes well, and I love your videos :)
@MockingjaySea
@MockingjaySea 5 жыл бұрын
Being put under anesthesia is actually really fun! It's perfectly normal to be nervous before a surgery, but just rest easy in the fact that you will be asleep while they pull all your wisdom teeth out of your jaw. It isn't painful, and in fact it's a lot like time travelling as you go to sleep suddenly and then wake up with everything done and gauze in your mouth. Take it from someone who has had more oral surgeries than she can count, it is much better to go under anesthesia than to stay awake the whole time. The last oral surgery I had without anesthesia, we learned that laughing gas has the opposite effect on me, meaning that I had a full-blown panic attack on the operating table.

Aw Drew! You will be fine! Truthfully, I've only had 2 wisdom teeth taken out at seperate times and I only did local anesthesia. My top one came out with no issues, I literally didn't even know he removed it at first. I was able to get my nails done after lol. However, the bottom ones are tricky, they are more difficult to take out. Even still, it wasn't that bad. I was a little sore. It won't be terrible! Take this time to gorge on some food with soft pudding consistencies or food that will turn to liquid in the mouth (i.e. pudding, ice cream, soup). Feel better love!

A tip: buy the cheapest pillows at IKEA and use the stuffing.

U can get a pillow for $1 at IKEA and pay like $6 for stuffing at a fabric store
@JessicaPancake2

I googled this because I was like ‘nah surely a bag of stuffing is $10..’ it’s actually pretty expensive! You can just get a $5 pillow from Ikea and that is cheaper and your only using/buying what you need.

I absolutely LUV your ideas! Your explanations in your videos are easy to follow and understand. You're quick to the point without a lot of wasted words. Your personality is freaking "Fantabulous"!! I responded to a comment made by 'Money b Stackin'. Not only do I agree with their statement, but I think that you need your own DIY show on HGTV, or the DIY network.

Hi drew 🥰 I had to get a minor surgery last year & I was extremely nervous as well. I had never been put under, but honestly it was the best nap of my life lol. I know my experience is probably a rare one, but I didn’t get sick afterwards or feel groggy whatsoever.

You are great! Do you mind sharing your backstory? Did you go to design school? Who or what motivated you with your interest in design. This video interested me, not as dorm room ideas, but for my mother-in-law who lives in an assisted living facility and shares her room with someone else. Great ideas!

I am so very nervous to go to the dentist. But I also had to have my wisdom teeth out, all four. I t was great. No pain slept through it. Most importantly it was easily healed ,just tender for a bit. Good luck!

I had impacted wisdom teeth just a few months ago and the surgery. It was right after everything closed from covid. The dentists and surgeons were all very reassuring and nice, even though I hate the dentist lol. It was honestly the most pleasant dental work I’ve ever had since fillings for me are pretty traumatic and loud and they don’t knock people out for them haha. The anesthesia they used is so perfect, I was awake but unaware the whole time and don’t remember a thing. I FaceTimed my mom right after lol. The hardest part for me wasn’t dealing with the pain, it was the lack of food options for about two weeks lol. Smoothies (no straw!) and soups and mashed potatoes were a life saver :) they gave me norcos which I took the first couple of days. Overall I just felt weak but not a lot of pain. It was a relief from pain honestly because of how much the impacted teeth hurt! I hope your surgery goes well and you can find something to binge watch while you recover :)
