This table arrived well packaged and on time. kzfaq.infoUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW Like another reviewer advised, I pulled everything out and made sure everything was included (everything was!). I built it alone and it took me about an hour. The color is great and for the price the lift part works well. As others have mentioned, it’s not the smoothest opening/closing, but it works. The screws do show, but I plan to order white sticker covers if that bothers us too much. Really happy with this table! UPDATE: it’s been over a year since we got this coffee table and we still love it! It gets HEAVY use as our dining table, foot rest, and school desk. Over time, the opening and closing mechanism has gotten smoother. I added a new photo with the white screw cover stickers. They blend in perfectly and make it look a little cleaner. 100% recommend!!!

I can see that table styled with Egyptian style bowls or vases. Coffee table books about the Pyramids, Pharohs or Cleopatra. Then a rug in the same theme...maybe Egyptian words or patterns stenciled on an area rug to go under the table. I think it would be so interesting.

It really makes me sad seeing that you’re not using proper safety while working with the plaster… you need to be wearing a mask while working with plaster in a well ventilated area. Knowing you have a million of subscribers who might be inspired by this project is just dangerous. This is coming from someone who works with plaster for a living. People please wear a mask while handling! Also same thing for when handling polycrylic - dangerous fumes can get caught in lungs
@lonefox

I actually had no idea about the plaster/sealer and I will 100% keep this in mind if i use it again for a project! I used a mask during the sanding stages as I knew some dust would come from the plaster!

I went to Target to buy a steno pad. I enjoy them more to write notes in over a notebook. I first looked where notebooks, index cards, paper etc., were displayed but there were no steno pads. Then I asked the first SA I saw and she had no idea what it was. I asked several others who also were clueless, and I started looking for OLDER associates, but Target has them on the register, not the floor. I finally found someone over 20 and she told me they didn't carry them.

I love your IKEA hats today! I want to give you a little tip. I stopped using plaster of Paris and went to drywall and white glue. It is very strong, longer working time, sand able , and of course paintable. I found the plaster Paris ( pop) made me to fanatic to work with so fast! I hope you get to try my new recipe! I love the table so much! Maybe because I recently completed a similar project, I used the square Ikea side table in black ("Lack", 21 5/8x21 5/8 ") and using tile glue and grout (two in one, in my case, usually they are two separate products) glued on the tile on the table top. I used Satori Silver Crescent 12-in x 12-in Honed Natural Stone Travertine Versailles Stone Look Wall Tile (that is 7.98 in my Lowes per one 12x12 square, I used 3). Also, used Satori Countryside 12-in x 12-in Multi-finish Natural Stone Travertine Uniform Squares Wall Tile, smaller square tile to trim the sides of the the table top (2 tiny tiles width was enough to cover the thickness of the table top along the sides). I didn't do anything to the legs, so they remained black and the top is kind of grey now with all these tiles. I liked the matte stone look of it! All these Ikea table hacks with tiles videos inspired me to do that. The finished project with all the rock tiles on top is so awfully heavy!
