How sweet of you to do this. I TOO have been obsessed with office supply stuff since I was little. All I ever wanted to be was a "secretary" so I could have a desk full of pens and pencils, pads and notebooks, little containers, etc.!!! And that's what I ended up being.. and though retired, I still have more fun browsing the office supply isles at the stores. Can't get enough of little notebooks and journals and pads and pens. My step-granddaughters always get art supplies from me - pads for drawing, pencils and pens and little notebooks, just about every holiday and Christmas!

What a nice Auntie you are! The boys will love the gifts. I have the exact same obsession with Back To School supplies! I am 69 now and it is STILL very strong. When my girls graduated from college, I would take neighborhood kids and church kids out for a Back To School shopping trip for school supplies. It was great fun. When grandkids came along it was fabulous for those items, Then when they were Homeschooled (still are) I was in Heaven cause I could buy them year round! I don't know why I do that????

How sweet! Lucky you to live near family! Great idea! Back in the day it was called The Five and Dime. That started my obsession on the pencil and paper aisle. Have never understood it. Can’t even draw a straight line, but a 50+ year obsession anyway! Stay safe!!!

Every locked-in kid should have an aunt like you! and get a gift filled with so much love and careful consideration of who the recipient is! What an excellent comp book hack! You totally solved the issue of the white space that’s left after you fold over the cover paper! Perfect way to cover it quickly. Because comp books are what I like to play with the most, there will be times I will do the more laborious method, simply because I enjoy making it a more painstaking process, but this is unbeatable for efficiency!! You are such a thoughtful auntie, I’m sure the boys were excited to receive their goodies. By the way, I share your passion for office supplies! Browsing Staples is my idea of a fun time!😄

I loved this 💜 you are an Aunt to your nephew's like my sister is to my kids...and my Aunt who is like you and like my sister is battling stage 4 ovarian cancer...everybody needs a special Aunt in their life...one that makes you a better person...your nephew's are small...but they will surely feel their Aunt's love through these packages...thank you for sharing this video with us ☺

Thanks! Great instructions. It worked beautifully! The only thing I did differently was to fold and glue down the top and bottom flaps first before folding and gluing down the larger side flap for a cleaner edge. When using patterned paper, it looks nicer. The only problem is ... my family members loved mine so much, now they want me to make one for them, too! So, I guess I better buy some more composition notebooks. LOL.

I love that yours have a fold over edge. I have tried to glue and cut to cover dimensions, but the long edge started to fan up a little. Which drove me crazy! Lol I am sure your nephews loved their gifts! ❤️

What a wonderful idea. I do not have kids either and enjoy spoiling my nieces and nephews as well, only i have about 12 lol. And a niece that is like a daughter so she gets spoiled a bit more than the others. I also collect school supplies, my obsession is with spiral notebooks lol. I've watched this video several times. I have made 1 cover a couple years ago and hated how it turned out. After watching this one, I thought I would try it. Oh my gosh, what a difference it made. I've now completed 1 that I did while I was watching the video. Now I can work on the other 5 that I've had forever. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I have an obsession with pens. I'd hate to k ow how many packages of unopened pens I have around our house. Some day my daughter will find them and smile...I hope. Brian

Thank you, Amber, this method is so much easier than the previous one. Last fall when making these, I struggled having the edges look neat and ended up stressing about and doctoring them. This will finish off my collection of notebooks very easily! Always love your ideas. Tfs!

Great video! I think I will fold the short ends in first on the inside covers so the upside-down design of the paper gets covered up. I’m just picky like that...😜. Thanks for another great crafting video!

I love the idea! I would fold the larger piece in after the top and bottom. It’s covered with a pocket and it would a smoother bottom I think.

I used to cover my books like that in school about 390 years ago (that is how old I am, scary!) haha. It is a very good method. Love the books. They're fabulous (I know this is an older video, but I just came across it in my recommended videos)

I have a stash of Comp. notebooks and every once in awhile I get some out and make covers and pretty things on the inside... Then they go back on my bookcase. Just a fun simple way to relax something different. Can’t got wrong for .50 cents

I like this simpler way to make these than what I made many years ago with the mini composition booklets. I think I will make a few new journals for myself.
