I really appreciate that you show any mistakes as a learner and tell us exactly what might of went wrong and how you fixed it for your needs. I feel like people try to edit stuff like that out to seem like it's all easy peasy to do projects when it's really not, especially when using new machines you're not familiar with. So thanks for that (: And your book looks so cute!

I made one of these in the Faux Suede and it is wonderful. I only had to use my fine point blade which was a good thing as i was new to my Maker and only had what was supplied with it. I am Vegetarian so the Faux Suede suited me better. Thanks for this video in which you explain the pitfalls as well as the wonderful finished notebook. The great thing is that you can add to or take away pages. If I make this again I will adjust the width of the pages before cutting as I don't have the patience, or the will, to trim them after! It is a wonderful design which caught my eye right away. I suppose you could have more than one signature or the design could be enlarged if you weren't using the leather or suede and used a 12 x 24 mat. Oh! The ideas are endless!

Thanks for this video. I’ve always wondered what the Cricut was used for. It fun to see what you can make. I also like seeing the details of the process. It helps me to decide if I want to make a purchase in the future.

Could you do a video on making book covers, wrappings using the cricut to cut them out? It seems that the corners could be intricately cut with this machine. I love what you did with his one.

I work in a screen printing shop but we do a lot more as well & we recently just got our laser system to work. It can cut & engrave leather. You have given me ideas.

I've told my "art"-ish school to buy a Cricut (during feedback). I hope they'll get one!! (too expensive to but myself, gosh!) _(we have 3D printers and one laser cutter, but that leaves burned edges... so a cricut would be AWESOME!)_

I did use it a lot on chipboard, even when not filming the last video. To be honest I thought it would last longer but this new one will be a good test to gauge how long. And I'll keep track of the projects I use it on now since I'm aware of it and let you guys know how long it lasts!

Last night I followed the steps you took after your first attempt, using the knife blade, I let it cut for the first 4 passes and it was nowhere near cut through, then I tried a further 2 more passes and it Still didn't cut all the way through! And I was using a brand new blade and housing! Sigh...so I gave up haha I'm not very impressed that it couldn't cut through Cricuts own 'leather'......

Lasers have big toxicity problem with some leathers and more so with metallic tanned leather,even with filters and proper ventilation

@@VideozAI I've heard about cork leather; there's a company out there that uses it to make purses/wallets. But I don't know how expensive it is, or if it's even available to home DIYers yet. It's so frustrating that there's no readily available option that's both friendly to animals and the environment. (Maybe once they have the vat-grown meat worked out, they can move on to vat-grown leather?)
