Living on a homestead you have to be able to think outside the box. This is a great example of doing just that. /thanks for another great video.

Your attention to detail in all of your projects really impresses me, Danny. When you build something, it is top quality meant to last for a lifetime so I understand your frustration with companies that don't support their products after sale. I will be placing my order for lemongrass Friday, Wanda. I saw that it was up on etsy last night. God Bless to the both of you!

I just did something similar yesterday with 60" horse panels so I could haul sheep. Mine isn't up to the standard I like right now but I plan to get angle iron to weld up a full frame and weld the panels to the frame.

Just built a trailer like this last week. Used this video multiple times as a reference as well as another here on KZfaq. I didn't bend the cattle panel, I cut it and weld (outdoors) the edges together. But thank you SOOO much for this video. It saved us so much money and worked like a charm. We brought two American Guinea Hogs home in it on Sunday :)

I never thought of using Hose clamps like that, so glad I am decided to spend my lunch break watching old videos. Its actually cooler today so lunch break is going to be short. I need to take advantage of cooler daylight hours because in about a month from now the days will have rapidly gotten shorter. Thats the problem with August, it still carries the heat of July but adds in the shorter amount of day light hours of September lol

Great job Danny! I was given 4 pcs of hog panel that had been hit on one end with a fork lift for $10.00. I started cutting off the damage parts with my ancient bolt cutters, started a real battle until I Wd d and oiled them!!!! So much easier!!! I fitted the panels onto my 10' metal trailer using Ubolts and wiring the corners. Hauled wood on it last week and didnt loose any of it!!! I may see about adding a rounded roof to it. I sold my horse trailer several years ago as I wasnt using it, but the flat bed could haul small stock with a roof on it!

We like cattle panels! We're on less than 1/2 acre of land so nothing we build is very big. We used the panels for a hoop house/ greenhouse and a chicken run. This pen for your trailer was brilliant!

@pat_in_va8605

Very well done, especially for needing it right away. Once it is welded it should work well, especially for what I think of as "small stock." Not so sure about a calf unless there is more bracing on the sides. I have seen cows plow through barbed wire without thinking twice. A calf, if it does not travel "well" could make a mess of that and get itself into trouble if it started panicking. Cows can sure have a potential to try to ignore barriers. Hrmmmm ...
@ggarden8432
@ggarden8432 6 жыл бұрын
Looks good, I wouldn't bother welding it. Add a couple more good clamps and you'll be just fine. I welded those panels once before and the welds cracked from the flex in the panel.

My same thoughts. Especially when the welds age with s large hog inside. Even though I have found more often once a hog has been loaded they tend to get nervous in travel and hunker down tight. Large diameter cable crimps may work too. Mine have held strong tight now for two years on fence corner braces

Great ideal That is thinking out side the box. I see the guy with the apron hope that's not the butcher shop I was wishing you were giving him to some one. I do understand people raise them for meat but I am one of those that are soft hearted for animals Real life is you do what you have to. You have to feed your family first. Love the baby goats Stay warm guys

Just like in the old days - multi-purpose and efficient use of tools, equipment, and materials based on need, cost-effectiveness, and simplicity. Wonderful! A question - using your plan and having no tractor, would that unit be too heavy for a couple to pick it up over the side rails of the trailer and set it into position? Thanks!

Nathan Rittenhouse if you buy dont buy the XG3025 it is having a lot of problems i got a recall on this model done because if you use the front end loader a lot the engine will start leaking oil. Even after the company fixing it the problem came back again.Im now working with the company about getting a new tractor or giving me my money back for this one. The next size up from this one dosent seem to be having problems that im aware of. I may look at going in that direction. Mine has been in the shop for 2 months out of the 3 that i have owned it.
