Good information. I saw this gasket on the web and was advertised as having a metal carrier. Thought it may have a metal insert but wasn’t sure. Now I know, thanks.

My preferred trans gasket is the silicone steel core gasket with torque limters built in for the 95and up trucks and its reusable a few times and I like to install a drain or a new pan with a drain for easier service down the road.

One issue I keep seeing repeatedly is people keep torquing them to foot pounds and not inch pounds . Hell it was about a week or so giving my nephew a hand doing new valve covers on his 2018 Camry . He tighten them down so much that that the rubber gasket popped out of its snap groove . Told him no They only get 15 inch pounds not he man on . He ended up buying new ones cause they where squashed badly .

yep . I just tighten them till they just stop and then maybe half a turn . I drive the vehicle for a day come back check to see if the gasket has naturally compressed from the heat and recheck the bolts

Another way is go to dealer and buy their rtv for transmissions and don't have to use gasket

27 foot Lbs or tighten down till they just stop then half a turn ? if you use the regular rubber gasket tighten down till you just start to see the gasket move side ways

@@MoparMan-ff8fb I am using the same gasket you had in the video. 27 ft pounds seems like a lot. The service manual says 150 inch pounds. I just don't want to over torque them.

the small foot Lbs isint much . 150 inch is fine. I think it equals 12.5 Ft lbs
