Materials used:
Premo Sculpey Polymer Clay in White, Ecru, Cadmium Red, Green,
Burnt Umber & Orange
Fimo Liquid Deco GelBaby OilSoft Pastel in Terracotta & Dark Brown
Equipment:
Dotting Tool, Needle Tool, Bristly Brush,
Soft Brush, Palette Knife, Ceramic Tile (to work/bake on)
Optional: Small hook or earring, String / ribbon

All of those itty bitty fiddly parts and you handle them like a pro. I LOVE the level of detail in these! The faces on the gingerbread men, the tiny little peppermints, the icicles...excellent work.

That was pretty awesome to watch. I make miniatures (as well as other things) on my channel, too. Now. you've got me wanting to make some mini ginger houses!!! The only thing I don't have is Fimo Deco Gel - that stuff seems pretty hard to come by. I don't have those colors of clay either, but you can always color the clay with paint before baking or just paint it after. I already had a mini candycane cane from before, but the little gingerbread mold is adorable and I like how you made a cookie base for the house - so cute. That's an idea that I would try if I made these as well. Well done! Clay is starting to get a little too expensive for my tastes - even sculpey 3 now costs what Fimo used to cost a few years ago. But I still love it - haven't done it in a while, but I have stuff in mind to create this year. Great tutorial.

Thank you! ☺ I made the molds out of 2 part silicone putty. 1st I made the item I wanted to cast from polymerclay, baked it then pressed it into the silicone.

Out of curiosity, why did you opt to use clay when assembling the gingerbread house? I would have instinctively used fimo liquid or the deco clay but I’m curious the reason to use the clay as it looked like it was much more difficult than fimo liquid or deco clay would have been but I am impatient and always opt for quick and easy over anything and I’m new to polymer clay so I’m totally ignorant but eager to learn. I’m used to throwing pots on a wheel with natural clay where water is my glue which of course doesn’t work with polymer clay. Lol

I like to use clay as it helps to cover up some of the joins and blends in better. I find it also holds it together better while I'm still working on it but either way would work!

How many minutes did you baked them for?

Hi, I usually bake each stage for around 15-20 minutes. Always follow the baking instructions on the packet as different brands can have different baking times and temperatures!
