Nice werq on the night vision I had been working on something similar for some months prior using the cylindrical EJ230 camera in a carbon fiber tube but was unable to find a decent viewfinder. When I came upon your video I was quite happy. That is until I bought the viewfinder just looking at the 640x480 resolution spec. The seller falsely advertised the viewfinder as 640x480 when it is really WQVGA which is only 400x240 so quite low resolution and not what I was looking for. I asked the seller to correct his misleading specs he had both the 640x480 and WQVGA specs on the same line. It seems as they are no longer selling them so something happened. So, I am still searching for a decent 640x480 viewfinder at a decent price. Your Flashlight mod got me to thinking as well and I bought a Panasonic 52mm LX3 adapter and a Polaroid Studio Series 2.2 lens. Very tight press fit is right but it did go together and werqs very well. Thanks for the hours you put into showing how this is done too bad the vendor had incorrect specs on what he was selling guess I will be using my screen for a bit longer.

Flippen Great! What a creative way to use new the technology. I want to redesign your housing to put the monocular next to the camera instead of behind. That should shorten the whole NV unit. When you shoulder the rifle instead of looking from behind straight down the scope at 12 o'clock, I will be looking in at a 1 o'clock angle slightly across the scope line. Imagine if I was looking directly ahead, the rifle would be angled slightly across my body (aiming 30 degrees to left) from right shoulder to left hand. Rifle points towards 11 o'clock. Still no cheek weld though.

HI, This design is brilliant and has a lot of potential. Great work. hope you don't mind me asking i have asked for the 3d design to be printed and they have asked for the two parts to be uploaded separately. Would you be able to provide these files separately. Thanks a lot.

Man, dit is helemaal geweldig, (man this is awesome), je bent een genie (you are a genius), waarom kan ik dit niet op ebay kopen? (why cannot I buy this on ebay?) Greetings from The Netherlands, Rob.

I really like the simplicity of this setup without all the added bells and whistles except for all the added length. To me the viewfinder is the only way to go but why not mount the viewfinder on the left side of the scope back up forward so that a more normal {right eye dominant} shooting stance can be achieved. Just flip it over if your left dominant {view finder on the right}

This is awesome. Would your design fit aimpoint scopes? Have you considered to try the same design with thermal? Flir or Seek has affordable thermal cameras for mobile phones. The Seek cost around 250$, maybe its possible to just buy the viewfinder...

Great job, best on the net. How do you find the resolution of the veiwfinder? Also how do you find the eye relief? Cheers.
@adamouadam8 жыл бұрын
+brad glasgow Thanks mate it works very well but eye relief is basically none, your eye rests on it. I am developing a new system never before seen. Once I release it in a few days it will offer eye relief and will be the smallest unit on the market. Not even the big manufacturers have come up with this. I need to protect my idea from the big players before I spill the beans. I'm not concerned about DIY'er copying me

Hi Adam, nice job. Could you give me a hint on whether to use the D- or D+ pin on the viewfinder mini usb pinout for carrying the video signal from the camera to the viewfinder?
@adamouadam8 жыл бұрын
+Saku S Hi mate, I wouldn't rely on standard USB pin out info. double check the connections with a multi meter. These are made in china

HI adam. im really interested in this build. do you think its possible to use a viewfinder and a camera from an old camcorder with night shot and incorporate it into one of your housings? what software did you use to create the stl file? thank you matt.
@adamouadam8 жыл бұрын
+Matt Pearce Its not worth the effort using an old camera. The parts are cheap and will work better than the old camcorder

+S Verou Make sure you print at 100 micron resolution and in ABS. Can't guarantee it will fit as perfect at 200 micron. Worst case you'll need to do some sanding adjusting etc.. Reply ·

Thanks for the advice, I'm also adding a housing for a 1800 mah battery. The printing company still didn't reply at my drawing so I'm making some adjustments.

Cool. I left that bit out as every ones batteries would be different sizes. I'm also making a new design for a slow motion camera Casio which is cheaper than the eagle vision

+AirgunNV Haha WOW, that such a wrong statement. I sold one because i build one but i didn't use it. you're probably one of the members of the NV build your own Facebook page. Who kicked me without even hearing my story. I'm making my own NV designs but i certainly look at the designs that other people make, as we all do!
@wewekokowe68878 жыл бұрын
you forgot to say that the key is to have a 12mm lens fitted to the camera assembly, they come with the wrong 99% of the timeyou need that to fill the screen. plus the scope must just right for the job, too short eye reliee, pain, too long eye relief, it will be too long tube.the one I made is using a silicon tubing reduction, and solder everything no detachable connectors to fail in the joint, and no switch. you just take one of the 3 18650 batteries out. simples
