The paint booth isn't separately heated, but when painting I turn the shop furnace up which is a high-efficiency Bryant furnace. And the summer time I don't add any heat. Just try to keep it between 70 and 80 deg F

Hi Steve yeah that's a good thought. Could also work. My only thought with that is that it may be harder to keep the incoming air filtered in a homemade system with forced air intake, but certainly would have been an option... The other downsided to mention is my setup doesn't have the typical downdraft of a official paint booth even though I did Mount my fan low to help with this, professional setup certainly do have their advantages.

Not necessarily completely airtight, but the path of least resistance needs to be the air filters, not some cracks in the wall were dust and contaminated air can come through. In other words would avoid any gaps large enough to see light through or any significant air flow. If there is could just use some silicone or caulking to seal that up as that could be an entry way for dirt and dust etc. Great question let me know if the answer makes sense. Yes certainly can be a little bit of a problem. I will typically use a sprayer to spray the paint booth party utilizing. Keeps dust down a bit and probably also static. Obviously don't want too high humidity for painting purposes, but as long as it's 40 to 50% or so should minimize static
