I just want to say that I’ve been obsessed with the look of this patio cover since you and your husband built it a couple of years ago, and I appreciate the update so much. It’s nice to know how it’s holding up and what you would do differently - great spring/summer project idea that I just might have to use in the coming months😊 it looks so high-end, but of course you found an amazing way to make it affordable too!!!

Oh my gosh, I love this video. This is how I found your channel. I keep telling my husband, "see we can make one of those." I love all the finishing touches with the curtains and the furniture placement. It looks so beautiful. I told my husband that we would definitely need to make it a little larger than your dimensions. I love the stain you used. It's such a beautiful rich color. I love that angled braces that you put on there they remind me of corbels. It gives it a beautiful look. I love your ideas on how you would upgrade or change on your pergola. I think those are great ideas. Thank you for sharing your video. 😊

I had no idea you and yours built this! Looks so professional 👏 👌. As a roofer's wife ( my hubby has been in the roofing business for over 40 years), I just want to share a little tip.,,,,You'll want to keep an eye on those nails, because here in Florida, the "sponge" as you called it will (in time), start to break down and the roof will leak. They are easy to replace, and if my memory is right, the nails for metal roofs come with that little sponge already attached. Just unscrew the old and replace with the new.

😂I need shade for rain too. And the occasional hot days in summer. Not sure we’ll be making one this year. Spent a lot on cutting down sick trees 😢. But it was waaayyy cheaper than repairing our house or us dying from trees falling in a wind storm.

I found that dark brown stain for $10 a gallon on clearance at my Benjamin Moore store! 😅. Pretty awesome bc the cheapest I can usually get a stain for is $20 on sale. It’s usually $50 for gallon. Local stores have clearance paint that is almost always perfect

It’s adorable!! We’re actually going to use tin to cover the plywood on my covered porch this spring. I’m excited to get started working on it. Ours will be for looks only because the cover is shingled roof, but I just love the tin roof look. I used it in my basement. So much cheaper than drop tile ceiling.

Can you do a video about how you attached the curtains, please? I am going to build this in the fall because I have been trying to figure a budget friendly way to cover my cement slab in the backyard in the Arizona desert and this seems like a great option. I just need to know how you hung the curtains. I can't wait to build this, and my fiancé has already been voluntold that he will be helping me. HEE HEE 😂🙃😉

I was just thinking about those to corners...what if you cut boards same thickness, about 8 inches long with a mitered edge where they meet, and apply over those corners? I think it would help it to look very finished on the corners! Love your patio!

I have 6 , 4x4 posts that am planning to build a 12x12 gazebo. It should hold up pretty well right? Don’t want to go and buy 6x6 if I already have these given to me. Or do you think outing 3 of 4x4 in the front and 3 in the back is an overkill and would look ugly?
