I'm gonna try it by putting a hook about 4 inches down the post for the lights, and one about an inch down and hooking a tarp on the top hook. Once you get it hooked, you should be able to adjust the pots so the tarp is taut, right?
@cecebella09
@cecebella09 3 жыл бұрын
@@MimiDidi121 I think a tarp may be too heavy for the posts unless you have a post in the center. The center of gravity might be too much unless you use larger posts!

Yes! My aunt did the same project and bought the plastic bulbs- the only issue she noticed was that water is getting inside her bulbs. Mine don't have any water, but are glass so pros and cons for sure!

I wonder if you put hooks in the posts and hooked a tarp to them and adjust pots to tighten the tarp...like a gazebo, of sorts! I was at Tractor Supply and they had large pots that had been $14.99 on sale for $3.99! It's mid August, so I'm thinking of throwing them in the shed until next spring

Might be a bit off the center of gravity for a tarp, would probably need a middle post to support a tarp!

Hi, how big is your patio? I mean Distance between the two poles? We are thinking of doing the same thing with four posts for our backyard 16’x16’ and we were wondering how big the planter should we take for 4”x4”x8’ posts!! TIA
@cecebella09
@cecebella09 3 жыл бұрын
The poles are about 19 ft x 15 ft from each other! So the planters I used would absolutely work for that size!

Hey Celia, Great work! How's the stability of the posts? Do they knock over or sway if someone were to bump into them? Also, do you feel you used the right amount of concrete? The video and item lists are very very helpful!

Hi Darren! They are very stable, if you're concerned, I might try a slighter larger base, but we have friends over all of the time and have never had an issue. The concrete level is perfect, heavy enough but easy enough to move around.

Can I fill barrel up with landscaping rocks instead? Or concrete is a must?
@cecebella09
@cecebella09 2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this won't work because the post won't likely be sturdy enough to be held up by the rocks if they were to move at all. The posts are unsteady unless held up by concrete in my opinion!
