DIY Paver Patio Project

3 жыл бұрынSince I’ll be headed to Maine in the next few months to start a homestead from scratch I figured I’d start brushing up on my DIY skills.
I’ve been wanting to extend the backyard entertainment space for quite some time. First I had to take care of a standing water issue we had by installing a ez drain system. Now that the backyard isn’t a swamp after every rain and we’ve had a good dry spell here in Charlotte, NC I decided now was a good a time as any.
This is my first time every trying something like this and I made plenty mistakes. But I learned a lot, had a lot of fun and I think it turned out ok.

I did one that was 10x10ft in my yard last year and it was so much work! You made it look easy but I know what goes into. Nice work!

Wow, that brings back some memories. I did that back around 1994 when I was still young. I don’t know about you but it was backbreaking work for me. It is good to see somebody young who still knows how to do something.

Great job! This gave me the motivation to complete a similar job in my yard. What’s the black material you layered the sand with? I want to expand my patio area with square pavers & rocks. Wondering if I should use that material as well.

looks dope man. sick that you know how to lay pavers. you could always throw some steel (or plastic would work too) edging around it to hold everything in place.

Thanks. Yeah I used plastic borders, I mentioned them a couple times in the video.

About how much did this project cost

under $500. think about $60-70 for the sand. the black plastic pavers were i think around $13 a piece so a little over $100 for them ( which replaces the gravel layer you would have to lay). and a couple hundred for the pavers and sand you sweep into the cracks when you finish.
