DIY Pedal Demo - Axis Fuzz

This is a quick demo of our DIY 'Axis Fuzz' pedal. Built from a Fuzz Dog design and based on the Roger Mayer classic.
Left knob controls the 'Fuzz', and the right knob controls the 'Volume'.
Equipment;
Fender Stratocaster (USA, 2003)
Axis Fuzz
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (with Vintage 30)
Shure SM57
Universal Audio 4-710d

So this one sounds more like an old school fuzz, and like an overdrive/boost when you set it at low gain, right?

A couple of years ago I bought an Axis clone made by Kol Jaiczek(a local DIYer). I had it standing for a while until I tweaked it a bit and now it works perfectly (It just wanted a little love haha...)Now it sounds very similar to your unit and it cuts clean very well with the vol. of the guitar (which I did not do before) as your unit. I loved the video, but you should have made the demo with a preset of drums and bass there you would appreciate how much the effect cuts in the mix... I understand that Roger Mayer based himself on the scheme of a recording console to achieve that sound and the truth, I think he did a very good job! (it works well with the Wah and with the wide transistor ones, which the fuzz face,not always does.)👋🎸👍💖
