I like the stairs /planter idea they turned out great. They should be sitting on some gravel to keep the wood dry. It would have been better in stones but quick thinking Ana. I like to see how excited Ana gets when Jacob agrees with her ideas. Very cute. Congratulations on the baby.

I love your style. Everything just seems so right. I'm at a loss to even describe it. Welcoming, inviting, grand and yet grounded. Mark Twain wrote about his house having "sympathies" as if the house itself understood the what his family needed. I read that and thought: it was the home's designer who had the sympathies and built them into the house. As for your house, you two are making it to be a reflection of your values, and it shows.

Ana White you know what might look good on the other side of that big retaining wall some vines and have them drape over so as they grow they can hide the wall and it can also tie in the forest behind it or even better moss I believe there is a way you can like spread a moss like paste over the wall and it will grow given the seasons

The planter stairs are wonderful. The kids are amazing. That back wall looks like it was a bear to build based on the brute strength needed with all the individual stones. The young men working with Jacob are doing a wonderful job! Question: I thought the retaining wall would have to be built high enough to hold back the entire hillside. There seems to be several more feet that is currently unbound. Do you have to do something to this area to keep this from falling during a rainstorm, or sheer gravity? Thank you for another awesome video.
@AnaWhiteDIY6 жыл бұрын
That’s great question - we are going to grow shrubs above and slope the dirt back. I didn’t want to go up the entire way and make the yard feel like a prison.
