Hello Friends! Are you looking for something to put an extra pep in your step? We’ve got just the craft that will help you add some supercute flare to your favorite sneakers for springtime fun with Hello Kitty and Friends. It’s time to make some Hello Kitty and Pompompurin pom pom pals to match our new ensemble from the Sanrio by Amazon, Merch on Demand Collection!
Let’s get started!
Materials needed:
Yellow Yarn
White Yarn
Scissors
Ruler
White, Yellow, Brown, Black and Red felt
Glue
How to Make Pom-Pom Pals Step-by-step instructions:
(1:16) Step 1: Measure out about a foot of yellow yarn, cut and set aside.
(1:22) Step 2: Open up one side of the pom-pom maker and start winding the yellow yarn around it. If you don’t have a pom-pom maker, you can simply wind the yarn around your hand.
(1:33) Step 3: Wind the yellow yarn on one side, cut it, then wind it around the other side of the pom-pom maker.
(01:45) Step 4: Take your scissors and cut through the loops you’ve created. Do this on both sides.
(01:52) Step 5: Tie the piece of yellow yarn you set aside around the center of the spool in a tight knot. Tie a second knot to secure it in place and remove the pom-pom maker.
(02:14) Step 6: Trim your pom-pom to make the threads the same length.
(02:30) Step 7: To make a Hello Kitty pom-pom, measure out about a foot of white yarn, cut and set aside.
(02:32) Step 8: Open up one side of the pom-pom maker and start winding the white yarn around it. If you don’t have a pom-pom maker, you can simply wind the yarn around your hand..
(02:43) Step 9: Wind the white yarn on one side, cut it, then wind it around the other side of the pom-pom maker.

(2:45) Step 12: Trim your pom-pom to make the threads the same length.
(02:55) Step 13: With your yellow felt, cut out two ears for Pompompurin and a nose for Hello Kitty.
(03:00) Step 14: With the brown felt cut out Pompompurin’s eyes, nose, mouth and his brown beret.
(03:04) Step 15: Using the white felt, cut Hello Kitty’s ears.
(03:06) Step 16: From the red felt, cut Hello Kitty’s red bow.
(03:06) Step 17: From the red felt, cut Hello Kitty’s red bow.
(03:09) Step 18: Then with the black felt, cut two black circles for her eyes and some small black strips for her whiskers.
(03:12) Step 19: Use a black marker to draw a black circle in the middle of Hello Kitty’s red bow. Then outline her bow with black.
(03:26) Step 20: Glue on Hello Kitty’s ears, bow, eyes, whiskers and nose.
(03:37) Step 21: Glue on Pompompurin’s ears, eyes, nose, mouth and beret.
(03:45) Step 22: Lastly, use the long threads to tie the pom-pom pals to your sneakers or shoe laces. Complete your ensemble from the Sanrio by Amazon, Merch on Demand collection!
