Building a portable band saw wall mount and table, no welding required! I have limited space in my garage and wanted as much versatility as possible from my new Milwaukee 6232. No saw modifications needed and it lifts right off of the mount! This wall mount could be adapted to fit any portable band saw brand. See the links below for the parts and tools I used:

Very nice design. You could use a revision to make the shoe easily removeable as it will get in the way when using the saw out of the cradle. I'm sure you could come up with something.
@Mikeattempts
@Mikeattempts Күн бұрын
Thanks! I rarely use it out of the cradle but, when I do, the shoe hasn't been an issue. Blade changes are easy too since it doesn't need to be removed.

This is great. I've been looking to do the same. While I have welding equip. I'm not a great welder; however, the bigger issue is that my local scrap yard no longer pulls out the useful steel(s) to sell 'retail'. That was my go-to spot for projects as buying new material is pricey for things. the wall mount idea is perfect for my needs. The 20yo. old milw. bandsaw is heavy AF. Thanks for taking the time to create this and share.

That is exactly what I was looking for! I have no welding equipment, and there sure are a lot of metal stands out there. So much thanks for uploading a non-welding guide for such a stand.

I like the way you mounted this to the wall with just extra wood scraps you had around. Because of my lack of space in my garage I built a stand for bench and it screws to it securely. But yours is great if you have the space.
@Mikeattempts
@Mikeattempts Жыл бұрын
I feel limited on space too which is why I decide to mount it to the wall rather than buying or building one of those popular tiny tables that the saw mounts to. Thanks for watching!

Pretty sweet contraption. One recommendation i would make is that instead of the switched plug, i would plug the saw in to a foot pedal so you can turn it on/off without needing a hand to do so.
@Mikeattempts
@Mikeattempts 3 жыл бұрын
The foot switch was my original plan and the only reason I went with the switched plug was because it saved me around $10... I'm frugal. ;) Thanks for watching!

What an awesome job man! For those looking to do this, the Porter Cable Porta Band is way easier to attach to the plate.

Yeah, I assume you could use a similar method to make a wall mount for any portable bandsaw. The shape of the tool might be different but the method for creating a wall mount is the same. Thanks for watching!

I just bought one of these saws and will be building one of these but turned 90 degrees. I need to take nail heads off pallet runners. So I need to push the board parallel to the wall to accommodate the board length.
@Mikeattempts

Ahh, I see what you mean. All you should need to do is build a stand-off out from the wall a bit and then mount to the side of that. Let me know how it turns out!

Mike such a nice idea compared to the welding method I'm gonna try that with mine I've got a harbor freight Bower unit so I will see if mine can be kinda done on the same principle I'm sure it can most all them saws are all about the same

That's slick! Is it possible to change the blades without taking off your table? Other setups i have seen, the slot on the table traps the blade inside and the table is required to be removed to change the blade. Thanks for sharing!
@Mikeattempts
@Mikeattempts 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, that's why I put the cut in the table facing out. That way I can change the blade without removing the table. Thanks for watching!

Maybe radius the corners of that aluminum plate. Could be an ouchy!

I haven't had any issues yet, but I see what you mean. The plate is tick enough that none of the corners are sharp but it would be easy to round 'em off.

Hey Mike Do you have a drawing of the angles or degrees of the two triangle pieces of plywood?
@Mikeattempts
@Mikeattempts 2 жыл бұрын
No, I don't have the angles because I was just winging it during the build. I was trying to show that you could use the same methods to create a similar wall mount for any brand of portable band saw. I can try to get the angles off of it now but they would only be useful if you have the same exact model Milwaukee saw.

I got something WAY easier than this. Get an angle iron. Drill an 8-32 clearance hole where the LED screws are. Clamp angle iron to side of table. Install portaband saw to angle iron with a slightly longer 8-32 screw. Done. Instant Vertical Band Saw.
