This is my latest project, a collapsible and portable table saw stand for a jobsite saw. The wheels allow you to move it around the workshop, store it in different ways or take it to a worksite.
I’m going to make to cabinets that will go on either side of the bench saw. The cabinets can be swapped and I’ll probably make more of them so that I can swap them depending on the project I’m going to do.

I love you've put the final product first and do a comprehensive review. So many videos linger on endless cuts and assembly shots that doesn't make sense until the end.

As a person who shares the wood shop with 2 cars I really appreciate the portable option. ESPECIALLY if you come up with a sliding carriage for the tablesaw!

FANTASTIC design and execution. I can think of several other applications. If you want to avoid metal (nails) in the glue up, a few grains of salt sprinkled on the glue will stop the slippage when clamping.

Nice design, can’t wait for router design. I just bought a 8.25” Skil Worm Drive table saw for my small 14’ x 20’ shop. My wood lathe and DrillPress are the only toosl that doesn’t fold away.

I was really surprised how much cutting power (and torque) this saw had out of the box. I've used other (10" saws) previously and was pretty surprised with the speed and cutting ability of this Dewalt saw.I have bolted mine to a table to minimize movement which I highly recommend.This is a Great saw kzfaq.infoUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe with a light to see your cutting line (not a laser line).I'd recommend this saw fro anyone looking to upgrade from a 10" miter saw.

A couple observations: Mount the riving knife. Notch out clearance on both crossrails to eliminate finger pinches. Add leg stops to prevent collapse. Reorient the saw 90° to improve overall stability.

As usual, an exquisitely made piece of kit for the workshop ... you could possibly use magnets to hold legs/handles in place instead of latches 👍 I was wondering why you'd made it so wide, but you then mentioned adding cabinets and it became clear why ...I take it you are going to add a router table to one end as well. I look forward to the finished article, although I think it is going to end up being quite a heavy piece to move around and setup ... will be interesting 😀

Hello Paoson, congratulations for all the work you create, a question when you glue the various boards together at the beginning, you use glue and shoot nails. How can you be sure that in a subsequent burglary on the table you will not hit a nail with the blade of the table saw or with the cutter of the trimmer?
@Paoson_Woodworking
@Paoson_Woodworking Жыл бұрын
I try to place the nails in places where I don't have to drill holes or make cuts. It's not going to damage the blade or router bit too badly; these are 0.6mm thick copper nails. It could be dangerous, however, if a piece of metal flies off and hits you in the face.

This is a wonderful design, but I am wondering what happened to your previous cabinet for the table saw you built which had the built-in router table, and sliding crosscut? Were there problems with the design, or did you give it away, or ...?

Hi. I want to buy this project of yours. Can I buy including the drawing in 3D Design in 1:20-1:46 minutes?? I also want to mount my milling machine on the table. I am a member of your page and I have added the order to the cart. I Need This Exact Form Of Your Project. Since my saw does not have a table, I was looking for a suitable table project. The dimensions of your project fit perfectly under this table.

Nice work - takes up too much space - not yet a finished product. You've oriented it the wrong way round. Why didn't you use all that additional length to add a run off table to support longer cuts. If you're taking a saw like this to a jobsite, you're doing more complex work and need to make long cuts to dimension timber. You don't take a site saw like this to a framing job, that's mitre saw territory. A site worker also wouldn't use this to cut down sheet goods either - circular saw. The ONLY place this type of saw has on a site is to dimension timber on the LONG AXIS, where doing so would otherwise need careful and time consuming planing. My suggestion - make it shorter, put the saw at or closer to the front - maybe add a section to support long timber at the front (half the size of the saw plate), add a runoff support at the back at least the same size as the saw plate. I wish I did YT videos - I'd make this properly.
@barry.w.christie
@barry.w.christie Жыл бұрын
Why does it take up too much space? ... It gives a wide stable work area for cutting and extra support for longer pieces could be provided with slight modifications (or by using stands) ... it's designed to fold away to take up less space when not in use! .............. How is it orientated the wrong way round? Take any tool/jig/fixture and it'll be great for a specific range of uses but rubbish for others ... most people concentrate on what something can do and do well, not on what it can't do or isn't suitable for!
@rafezetter8003
@rafezetter8003 Жыл бұрын
@@barry.w.christie Because the whole point of this is it's a portable site saw, that has to go into a van, alongside a ton of other stuff. Trust me, after a half dozen times of putting that saw on and off the mount, you're going to stop doing it and just leave it on there, so now you've got a site saw that's taking up 3x as much space as it used to. Can't be hung up vertically, so it'll have to sit flat in the van - hence the "takes up too much space".
@barry.w.christie
@barry.w.christie Жыл бұрын
@@rafezetter8003 I understand what you are saying, but the description mentions it as a possible use, not the only one ... the saw itself is a worksite saw so doesn't need this added to it unless of course you need the extra functionality, in which case it'd be perfect! I mentioned in my own comment below that I think it's going to be quite heavy to move around, but for those with a workshop of modest dimensions it offers some of the benefits of a larger table saw, while at the same time it can be put away in a smaller space ... exactly what it's really been designed for.
