This was my very first time made Chinese Qipao. I made some mistakes, like it’s too short . I will make it better next time on Qipao Cheongsam costume, Qi Lolita dress and more Chinese style dresses. You could use this method on Love live Cheongsam costume or other qipao inspired cosplay costumes

I just want to say that I'm black and I want to wear this since it looks good. However I'm afraid of being considered rascist, having yellow fever, or being obsessed with Chinese culture. This is especially bad since a lot of people have started to think and say that I'm obsessed with anime and therefore a weebo (I'm not, I'm an otaku.).I was wondering if it would be considered okay for someone like me to where the qi pao.

I know this is old, but with fabrics that fray heavily, use zigzag pinking shears specifically for fabric. It will minimize the fraying and sometimes completely stop it.

Hey Yumi, I absolutely love this design. You look adorable and you did an amazing job!!! I don't mean to be rude or offend you- if it will- but have you ever considered using interfacing on the collar? It would stand up a lot better. I'm in Fashion school, and isntead of having to remake patterns we use things called "pattern blocks" to build other clothing out of. You should totally try it out! I personally refer to the Helen Jospeh-Armstrong Pattern Making textbooks, you can find them at used bookstores or online for pretty cheap compared to a new book.
