Man… I messed up. We welded the brackets to the center of the sliders, and when I went to put them on the bolts weren’t long enough to reach the holes. So this Sunday I’m cutting the brackets off and moving them up to the top then rewelding them. The saga continues 🤦♂️

The Saga continues! I was lucky to have some help from my buddy who welds for a living. He knew, and had the tools to get everything mocked up before welding anything together!

Nice job brotha. I just picked up some stock wrangler rubicon sliders for 20 bucks and the plan is to cut the tabs and reweld them Edit: you hit on the wrong side of the ball too, maybe that’s why we had the same idea 🤔

@@thenewmexicans4239 I haven't done them yet, still sitting in the garage. Apparently the JL sliders have a slight bow to them and I'm not liking the way it's sitting when I mock it up. I'd like to go with a set similar to yours since they will provide a little more protection on the trails, but I can't find them at the pricepoint you got them for. Mama doesn't like me spending too much money on this thing lol. Do you have a link to the ones you got by chance?

I have a 2011 grand cherokee, how big can my tires get if I trim my wheel wells and get a 2.5 inch lift?

I think the commonly accepted answer to this is 33s, without trimming most people go with 32s (275/65/18). I had some of those for awhile but went down to 31.5s (265/65/18) and I like them better.

@@thenewmexicans4239 awesome, I figured it had to be close to that. My sliders should be here this afternoon, got the same ones you did. They’re up to $149 now or best offer, seller took $140 shipped. Can’t complain, I can build 4 sets for the price of one from chief/mopar/rro etc

@@camaroboi13 Awesome! Yeah i agree. For me, the process of building it is more rewarding than buying it and I really like the satisfaction of being able to learn to build things in my free time.

I like projects.... and i spent under 150 bucks for the entire thing. Sliders from jeep are over 1k.
