That half a chair -- oh my! You're brilliant to accentuate the missing top by blackening the holes.The little white $5 bench that was such a problem child looks adorable when you get done with it! The difference between you and other upcyclers: You wait an hour when the can says 15 minutes; they wait 15 minutes when the can says an hour.

Painting the gifted bench made it look a thousand times better. You gave it a second life! I was surprised that you didn't add a stencil or something else to it. I know it would look even more beautiful if you did, because you always know just the right thing to add to a project! The little white bench with the spindle legs turned out adorable!

My preference is always for stained wood, but that said you always make your items look beautiful. I love the final look of the yellow bench. So glad you are keeping it! Sounds like it will fit right in with the dining room set. My husband and I are always impressed at the lengths you go to make sure the items you sell will look good for years to come. You have introduced us to some new ideas to create items that will look good for years to come. Love the items that you have done that have both stained wood and paint. Hope that they sell well for you as well.

Fascinated by how many pieces you didn't distress in this video :) Love the black bench you are keeping, and now I regret leaving out chair bases to weather beyond use like the bottom seat you turned in to a stool! You're the best!

I love the half chair. The stripes are marvelous with the filled in holes thtlook lime eyes. It's perfect for anything you choose it for !! I also love the next piece even before you've done anything to it Love the last one too. It's beautiful in black.

Great revamps. I like that you explain to folks that painting a piece is the right choice. Maybe if the Hitchcock name was there it would have been an injustice. Styles change though. Upcycled on👍

Again, amazing!! My favorite has to be the half chair that you did. I can’t say that I was worried that you would make it something great cuz I knew you would! Why did you apologize for painting the last piece? Are people really that rude and mean with their comments on things you have made? I can’t imagine how anyone could feel that your vision of the peice would ever do it harm! I’ve not seen a piece yet that has disappointed me. The way you apologized made me think you have heard some horrid things in the past. You have nothing to worry about. You always do inspiring and beautiful work. Thanks again for showing us what you do!!

Hi Yvonne ~ I love the half chair and the black circles where the holes were , it makes me think of old wood pegs in the seat. Well done and nice save ! Always love your tall wood stools with your paper seats. The TV stand/bench is wonderful too. Those cute little stool are so nice, I love little stools !!! But…oh the double seated bench is beautiful! So glad it is painted and so classy looking ! Never was a fan of that cream color with gold trim it is to French country looking for my style…and that is simply my own opinion and taste.. And so very excited that you are keeping it ! I have the exact same table as the first make over you did. It's still sitting in my basement. I'm glad you gave me some inspiration to get that one done and out the door. I also have 2 chairs (half chairs like yours) that were cut down to stools. I filled my holes with wood filler minus the paint. They are still very obvious after staining even though the wood filler is "stainable". It never looks thensame. I have sanded and re-finished the seats. I just couldn't decide what color I wanted the legs to be. I hate it when that happens. If I were selling them I would've just picked a color and moved on but I plan to keep them. I loved your make overs as usual. ❤ I would never shy away from your videos or sections of it if I ever thought a piece should or shouldn't be painted. I watch to see your amazing transformations regardless of any personal opinions I may or may not have. TBH, the only time I cringe when someone paints something is when it is an antique in beautiful condition or a beautiful family heirloom. Anything that decreases value, is a trend that will end or a beautiful piece in its natural state - that makes me cringe. I think k even then I would still watch YOU AND CHRIS transform the piece. Even though I have never seen y'all do that. You always make SMART decisions with your work. ❤I would have kept that gorgeous bench as well. It looks so much better than the original yellow bench. I'm curious to know how many cans of spray paint it took to cover it well?

I absolutely loved all of these, you even done such a great job on each of these. I cannot pick a favourite, that’s just TOO hard. I have never seen a double chair like the last one, such a beautiful piece. I think over the many years I’ve had quite a few half chairs, lol. I’ve never done anything with them though, I was never interested enough, plus I had 5 children, one of whom on his own was like looking after a whole classroom of naughty children, so my brain never had chance to consider doing anything else and I worked full time, the majority of my life. Now I’d grab anything that I found to try and fix it up. Have a great week and thank you for sharing.

I would have that kept bench too. It turned out really classy. Never heard of that decoupage paper that you used but I’m loving it. I sure hope you put it in the description below cuz I didn’t look. You do an amazing job at everything you do n I’m learning a few tid bits from it. I would of paid 50 cents for that chair too as it turn out so sweet. Like the grain sack stripes. You’ve inspired so much to me at watching the few videos I’ve watched. Being a newbie on your channel I’m gonna try some your ideas cuz to me there all priceless. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍

I love them all! But ohhhh that bench at the end is superb! I'm so glad you painted it and will be keeping it. And how cool is that backless chair! I never would have thought of doing that. I have 9 chairs similar to that one, and they all have spindles, so if I took a few apart, I'd have some stools and some spindles for other projects. Thank you for the great idea, Yvonne! Each piece is special and lovely in its own way! I am a sucker for stripes of any kind and you did such a nice job with yours. I've never used Polyacrylic for decoupage but plan to try it! I have used the spray poly to seal difficult to paint pieces, but recently my cans are clogging and are not spraying. Since it has been in the high 90's and even over 100 a few days, maybe that is the problem (guess I'll have to bring my spray cans inside!). Thanks for giving such great ideas and your cute personality is a pleasure to watch.

Yes.. maybe the heats clogging them. I do scrape off the tip with my nail each time before using a can that been used before

As usual, I love all these pieces. I really like what you did with the chair bottom. The stripes on it are so nice. I have a chair bottom that was headed for the trash. But now it needs refinished.

and Mrs T Lovely makeovers glad you are keeping the bench its very pretty. Just me, but I think the old chair that had no back the grain stripes were great, but I would have liked it better if you had not left where the two holes were but covered instead not painted black.Great jobs on all the projects always love your projects well done.

Wow! Gorgeous! That bench was my favorite, but they were all amazing! I’m Fixin to restore a chair that belonged to my parents, I hope it turns out as good as the projects u do! Thank u for the inspiration!❤️

I always know what you decide to do will be an improvement and an update. I love the bench that was the blonde color, it turned out so great. Love the half chair too, as well as the other little tables and stools. Love and look forward your next art projects 🥰

Have you ever thought about a detail sander? They get into the small areas great ! Trying to help you work easier.

Please try Wise Owl furniture salve ! It’s excellent on raw wood or painted , metal and many more surfaces . It comes with a few different scents too which are lovely especially for inside the drawers . Highly recommend 😊
