Nice that you don’t have to worry about frost heaving. Here you would need rebar and mesh in a slab or it wouldn’t last long. Good luck.

To quote Jerome K Jerome: “It always does seem to me that I am doing more work than I should do. It is not that I object to the work, mind you; I like work: it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.” This is the sort of vicarious pleasure I get from watching you both labour on all of your extremely interesting projects. You continually surprise me with the true grit you show and are a great example to others made of lesser stuff or have had their turn already :-) 👍👍👍

:) that will never float... Many years ago I was involved in the building of the Skye Bridge. The caissons were hollow concrete tubes, cast in an old oil rig yard : Kishorn Dry Dock. My job was to pump out and monitor the ballast water in the dock gates when we floated them at high tide. Each gate was 14,000 tons of concrete ... made like an egg box, filled with water to keep in place. The aim was to : flood the dock to the same level as the sea. Pump out the water, float the gates away, float the 2 caissons out and tow them to the bridge location and sink them. We had fun trying to get the dock gates re-sunk in the exact required position in a force 9 gale :)

@@lauralake7430 The swing set I got when I was two years old survived my three younger brothers, my cousin and my older cousin's two kids. Last year we took it down because we figured it was probably too rotten to survive my younger cousin's first kid (the same cousin who used the swing as a kid decades ago). Good thing we did, most of the timbers snapped right at ground level the second we removed the screws from the frame. My older cousin's younger kid is 18 now so I guess it hadn't been used for almost a decade but no one bothered to remove it (the yard essentially sat dormant for at least five years due to disagreement in the family).
