Don't really need to paint the whole wall. Just in-between the boards. Also if you paint your boards first , it makes life easier. I have shipped lapped many walls so I have learned to take any short cuts as possible. Your home looks amazing. Love shiplap and Farm House look. That's what I've done in and outside of my home. I love the idea your husband and you did on your pantry. I have a built-in desk with a recessed area in my kitchen. I'm doing this as well but I can't bring it up to my ceiling cause I have very high ceilings. Jus giving you some friendly tips. 🤗 I live by the "NO JUDGEMENT ZONE" ❤️🤗❤️

heres a little tip from one DIYer to another... buy some foam insulation boards (like the pink panther stuff) in a 2 inch thickness. this will help with plywood or paneling cuts by doing them on the ground. put the insulation board on the ground and then your paneling on top of it. set your circular saw to the appropriate depth and cut away! this prevents the bowing and wobbliness of between two sawhorses! AND you can continue to use the foam insulation for many cuts until it is no longer serviceable!

Caulking tip. Apply the caulk and spray it lightly with FOAMING window cleaner. It gives such a smooth finish and your finger will stay clean! No sticky residue.

A Nicole works great for spacing the boards. I use a spray bottle of water that helps a lot. Beautifully done. I'm going to redo my entire sunroom in ship lap. I figure a 4x8 sheet with 8 inch boards. I get 6 boards per panel. I'll need 11 sheets $15.00 per panel is affordable. Thanks for the info.😊❤

I did do your pantry idea in my kitchen bc I already have those exact cabinets in there. I didn't film my husband hanging them, but I am going to film me painting them and the rest of my cabinets, finishing my big wall with open shelving, adding some board and batten on that wall then putting in my new farmhouse sink...then I am going to post it to my actual channel (not this one) BUT I fully intend to shout you out bc you were the one who inspired it. I will send you a sneak peak of the before on IG. I don't know how to navigate IG very well, so I am hoping I can DM pics to you so I can reveal the whole thing at one time...This looks great. I was curious about this wood bc I was going to do shiplap until the prices went through the roof. We had looked at this exact sheet and wondered about it. Glad to see it worked. I have one sheet of plywood left I bought months ago, so I am going to try my best to make it work for what I want and not have to buy one right now! lol

I love how it came out!

I did this in my kitchen, and bedroom in 2018. I remodeled a 70s home. I also used the same board from Lowe’s. I got them to cut it. I got some cut in 5”-6”wide (kitchen) and some in 4” (bedroom)I actually like the wider better. Just looked better to me. The only thing I didn’t like about the thin plywood is it splinters a lot when cute.
