I took this dilapidated gate and spruced it up with some modern touches. I ran into a few problems along the way but in the end it looks and works great! Enjoy!

This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection kzfaq.infoUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.

And grinding the top of the gate next to his face, with one hand, and no PPE. Sunglasses are NOT eye protection. At least he got a dust mask to cut the concrete. I love the work, but you need to protect yourself so you can keep making great videos.

They sell a quick strip disc for grinders at home depot. Makes quick work on removing paint from metal and leaves a smooth surface for painting

Mr Panda I can definitely see your concern; I’m not sure that many nineteen year olds could pull off the task. However, I am an artist, so I am very familiar with paint. Besides, if I am unfamiliar with a task, I watch KZfaq videos on how to accomplish it. With the combination of precise hands and research, my kitchen will turn out just fine :)

I would put a kick board along the bottom on the inside. This will stop the dogs knocking the bottom slats off and also allow you to close the gate with your foot, if your hands are preoccupied.

I know America doesn't really use brick and cement to build houses, but I'd have thought the concept of anchor bolts would have reached the continent by now... Or at least the notion that bolts can't directly screw into brick ;) Great looking fence though!

C'mon, Mate. He also used self tapping screws to drill through his slats instead of pre-drilling and he used a reciprocating saw instead of the grinder to cut off the "frilly parts". He's obviously not the brightest we have here!!

Bro, SAFETY GLASSES!!! That grinding disk, if it breaks, will go right thru your dollar sunglasses and hopefully won’t go too deep into your skull, a full face mask is recommended!Grinders do bite, I would recommend steel toe boots if your using your foot as a vise, just saying. Invest in high quality tools. Invest in high quality products. Love the “ can do “ attitude, I hope you used stainless steel screws. Keep up the learning, nothing to it, but to do it! Love the puppy!

FYI... weld - join together (metal pieces or parts) by heating the surfaces to the point of melting using a blowtorch, electric arc, or other means, and uniting them by pressing, hammering, etc.
