Im working on some myself right now. your design is genius. it can be made from alot of different materials and its pretty cheap. Also everything is adjustable and can be made into my own likings. Thank you for posting this!

i wanted to get a new wheel, mostly because im missing the clutch and the pedals are TOO noisy, but now i see that it's not too complicated to make some, i might use a couple of things from your design and will totally shout you out if i ever publish them. great video and thanks for your contribution to the sim racing community

This is by far the best pedals DIY wise that i have seen This is what i had in mind but wasnt very easy to make a clear image in my mind and build it Thank you Edit: for a better and more realistic feel you can upgrade them with simagic haptics and hydraulic kit

Nice build and looks good too, especially considering no "fancy" tools used. What's the purpose of the jointed "arm" that connects the pedal and its mounting channel like 1/3 of the way up from the pivot point? Thanks for sharing!

How did you connect all of it? Did you use an arduino leo and flashed custom firmware on it? If yes, how did you connect the load cell? I assume you used an amplifier and put the signal into the arduino Analog Input pins and read the values (if that is possible)

The capacitor filters out electrical noise

Search around for potentiometer setup ("amstudio" channel has analog handbrake video that has wiring and programming video in detail with potentiometer, just that he uses another type). The legs on the side of each pedal (in gray) rotate the potentiometer, that's how he gets the data needed to have a controller

People use Arduinos or leo Bodnar sim board. Plenty of game controller programming tutorials for those available on forums.

@@Erowens98 Big issue with the leo Bodnar sim boards is they are from the UK so shipping is like 20 bucks. With materials combined you can easily run up to 300 bucks build cost.. might as well get a retail set.

Thanks! I used the Leo Bodnar BU0836-LC Load Cell Joystick Controller. It can take a load cell, several analog and digital inputs, and is connected to the computer as a joystick device.

if you only need potentiometer i recommend Adruino Leonardo with " amstudio" 's 5 axis tutorial, a lot cheaper than load cell setup.

The raw signal from the potentiometers was a little noisy. The capacitors smoothed it out a little.

Yes, I'm using potentiometers on the throttle and the clutch. The microcontroller i'm using is the Leo Bodnar Loadcell Joystick Controller.

The brake pedal uses a loadcell sensor, it senses pressure instead of angular position. This kind of sensor is often used in weighing scales.

That looks like so much travel on the pedals, and take care of load cell cable, it's rubbing against the metal and it will end cutting of it. Also in the clutch pedal the screw touches the printed piece at the end.
